Very harsh me thinks, in my opinion both full backs Kitchen & Brittain were excellent today, in fact all the back line played well , it was the two subs getting in a mix up what cost us the goal plus we never looked liked getting the killer goal ourselves, to keep a clean sheet to win a match is a big ask at any time but to do it all the time is impossible .
I thought Britain was all over the place for the first half hour and they targeted that side repeatedly and got plenty of joy. We tried at least, but we were second best despite Fulham getting themselves in a tizz. A lucky undeserved point may be crucial seeing how dreadful the bottom 4 are.
We all have our opinions but it was certainly not a lucky point & it was certainly deserved , regarding Brittain I sat in the west stand & in the first half they did target him & most of the time it was two on one with him getting very little help but they did not get the better of him , he stood firm & did very well .
Without picking out the numerous chances Fulham created, Wilson’s sitter of a header on its own was unbelievably lucky. And of course, we deserved nil, but the referee thought it amusing to give us a goal start. That was lucky beyond words. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy we got a point, and I’m pleased most of the players are at least trying now, but on most days given the chances presented today… we get zero points a large majority of the time.
Gone with Morris. Not just for his part in the goal, but a lot of tenacious defending in the second half as well.
Didn't realise that! In that case we just gatecrashed his birthday meal, as he arrived in the restaurant we ate at just as we were leaving. He was an absolute gent, and happily took a couple of minutes out for photos with mine and @Chef Tyke 's kids, who were thrilled of course.
He started badly, but it was more like 10-15 minutes rather than 30 before he got into the game. After which I thought he dealt with Robinson very well.
I plumped for Lounge who looked good and certainly had less of a stinker than Toilet. I have given up on expecting Bedroom to be anything other than a disappointment. Special mention for Shed who creates less room than Garage, but creates space more readily.
I will have to agree to disagree, we battled hard & deserved our point, I have only seen the penalty in real time & will look at it when the review is available, but it was our second penalty in 35 games & I feel sure that the opposition will have committed more that two fouls in the box against us all season & I think we have had a raw deal on that front, the other night against Stoke being a perfect example , Collins today had very little to do all match which was testament to how hard we worked & I am not sure why you would think the referee was amused about anything, but I know this , you must certainly get a different view of a game from an armchair than you do watching it live, it might be replays or commentaries which influence the tv fan , I don"t know but our opinions are polar opposites .
I think watching on tv has advantages and disadvantages. I often think at games there is more bias as you’re in it and the view for key incidents is just a split second. But on tv you don’t see the wider angles and runs made or efforts made off camera as the footage generally follows the ball. I didn’t think we deserved a penalty against Stoke either. And though I’m sure we may well have deserved some which I can’t recall this season, it’s general testament to how poor our attacking play has been this season and how rarely we’ve got into the opposition box. The Middlesbrough penalty was never a penalty. But that shouldn’t mean we should get one in another game for nothing. Happy to disagree, but I stand by my view that despite effort from most of the team, we still deserved nothing on the basis of chances.
I think watching in person @DannyWilsonLovechild allows you to track a player for a full game. I often do this when I can't see what other folk are on about in a player, it helps remove preconceived ideas.
