RE: Swearing when you are losing an argument is not good mate

they are all good players completely agree with you on that - but at what price?

even the players that might not have cost too much will still be on a better wages than Ritchie was signing players on

it's difficult to compare the two as it's not a level playing field in terms of resources

RE: Ritchie never had £1m to spend on a striker though, did he?

No, but you said Davey couldn't spot a striker if it hit him. I gave you Macken and Hume - 2 real quality players to prove you wrong.

Money only ever came into it when you knew I was right.

Fact is Ritchie turned down money he was offered, he didn't feel we needed more players - he was too loyal to the lads that got us promoted - and whilst that loyalty was commendable, it could've cost us a place in this division.

For the record, I'm far from convinced that Davey is the man to keep us up now...but I'm 100% sure we have a better group of players now compared to what we had under Ritchie

RE: So good that we're bottom of the league.

Do you think we have a worse team player for player now compared to 2 years ago? Really?!

No, you're right. But Owen Blackadder made the initial point about Davey signing crap strikers. He has signed some crap strikers, but also (as I've said time and time again) signed two of the best strikers I think we've had in a good few seasons.

It's impossible to say who would do better with x amount of money, but I'll stand by my belief that the squad is better now on the whole

thrappo-i agree with most of your post-but

jury still out on KO??!! the jury decided a long time ago - he is a total failure at this level-a poor excuse for a footballer, only sadly Davey cant see that. i dont agree with not supporting players, but in this case, i mean who can seriously still be defending his record?
Hume and Macken are the best strikers weve had in a while, think Hume will score a few this season and Macken will come good, just a slow start to the season

At times I see potential. He caused problems against Liverpool, unsettled the Chelsea defence, and did brilliantly away at Watford and Preston, but then sometimes (granted quite often) he looks totally lost. Still think he's better than Wright though

£3m spent and we have fallen to the bottom of the league.

    Where's the benefit?

We are further down the league than we were 3 years ago.

    That's all that matters.

With a different manager, I don't think we would be.

Hume has scored 2 this season, Macken sod all.

    They're not exactly prolific.

How many has the top scorer in the championship got so far? Maybe 5? 6?

I think most people have been quite happy so far with Hume, it's just the fact we're not creating enough chances
