One of my best mates is a Forest fan and he thinks its "hilarious" that we're signing him. Make of that what you will.
Hope we aren't turning into the Doncaster Rovers of 2011/12 having a load of household name players in the side who contribute nothing!
He said a load rather than a team. I suppose it depends on how many you call a load. We've got 3 now: Mido, Harewood and Greening. I guess they're not household names, but anyone with an interest in football knows them. Even I know them and I don't know anybody. No idea how Greening will do but our other two famous names have added nothing at all.
That's not fair, Mido added the entertainment factor last week. Half the stand pissed themselves watching him waddle around.
He's been a good player in his time, particularly at Boro, but can't say he's pulled any trees up at Forest
Obviously we'll see, but I think that's a cracking signing. He's the wrong side of 30, but I think we're crying out for experience. He's been there and done it and he's the sort of player who is quality and can pass the ball and receive it under pressure. Since Butterfield's injury we've not really had anyone who can do that and has been one of the reasons that we've played too deep with players taking the ball in areas where they arent under as much immediate pressure. I'm guessing he's going to play the role Cranie was playing. Very interested to see how we line up on Saturday now and looking forward to seeing more pace in the final third and a swifter passing threat.
