I hope he does strengthen our midfield because until we get some muscle in the middle of the park we're going to keep on seeing bad performances.
Hourihane can't play in a midfield 2. He's got to play in a 3, he doesn't cover enough ground, get stuck in enough and joins in with the attacks too often when you've got a midfield 2. He's like a league one version of Frank Lampard, looks brilliant & chips in with goals & assists when he's got 2 men behind him doing his dirty work but goes missing when he's one of a midfield 2. I'm not so sure we missed Pearson but by all accounts we missed a holding midfielder whether that be Pearson, Digby or the new lad Scowen
