Typical modern central midfielder. The media would describe him as "tidy". It means he can't tackle, can't beat a man, doesn't have a range of passes, never scores and doesn't have much pace. Every squad needs a couple.

Big fan of Pearson, think he adds a bit of bite and aggression to the midfield, which we were missing before we signed him. If we could turn him permanent on the right wages i'd take him but if rumours of Liam Kelly deal being close i think i'd rather us go for the more experience Kelly. He's only 19 or 20 and will probably go to have a career in the Championship at some point. But he needs to improve massively in his decision making and trying to get the ball up the pitch quicker. We've seen him do it before and he has the ability to do it but he needs to be doing it on a consistent level. The formation we're playing now should help him with that.

I think he is a tidy player who still has a lot more to come. Needs to learn to tackle properly and cut out the many pointless yellow cards he picks up.

On the rare occasion that he bursts forward (which seems to happen but once a match!), with a positive and penetrating run, he looks fantastic. Hopefully further coaching will bring the best out of him.

Not sure that LJ gets any where near the best out of him and really hope that LJ can influence Ben in the right way to develop his game, but not sure he will based on present evidence.

In short I believe if he is coached and influenced in the right way over the next year or so, he will become an influential league one or even championship midfielder and I hope that is with BFC.

Scowen is good. Pearson is good. Playing them both in the same team isn't good and is too negative. Scowen gets injured so LJ is forced not to play them both in the same team and our form turns around because we have a more positive line up.

To be fair I said the occasional big mistake, then recited the 2 that I can remember from the entire season.

I don't think that the odd misplaced pass every 3 or 4 games prevents him from being a very good player.
