We haven't missed Scowen one bit either.

He was poor at Bury as well.

    Should we sell him?

I rate Pearson. He was held back massively by Johnson expecting him to play a role you see from experienced world class players such as Pirlo, Scholes etc. Being asking to dictate the pace of a game from deep and hit the diagonals. No one in league one can play that role. I'd say only Stephen Mcphail could play that role from the midfielders weve had in the last 15 years.

He wasn't the only one effected by Johnsons dream tactics. Literally it brought the worst out in all our players and had a domino effect eventually leading to our appalling run.

If Pearson had been asked to play in a 4-4-2 he'd have been the player we saw in his last 2 games for us.

That takes nothing away from Brownhill though who has been fantastic and made Pearsons departure look very insignificant.

Work colleague is a Preston season ticket holder. Likes Pearson but not as much as Brownhill who Grayson simply doesn't favour anymore. I expect he will be available at the end of the season to someone.

weird one innit. the cynics would argue he upped his game at the point he heard of championship interest in him. undoubted talent but for me, he went missing for too long during games and was too back and side. brownhill picks the ball up and only looks forward. that's what i want to see in a midfielder.

re. your other point. should we sell scowen? imo, absolutely not. he's ring rusty, that's all. got every confidence he'll return to be a key player for us.

Comes down to ability, and to me Brownhill's simply got more. Particularly in carrying the ball forwards under pressure. Baffling why Preston would swap Brownhill for Pearson on their respective showings thus far.
