No but they don't have to learn a new way of playing, move country, learn a new language, settle in to a new culture etc. We tend to softer on those who haven't played here before because we give them the chance to settle.
You don’t think someone who has played for the manager before or even just in a similar style/setup, knows him and his style will settle in to the team quicker than someone that “knows English football”?
Its alright bidding for players, but how much are we actually bidding? Livingston rejected 2 bids of around a million, qpr doubled it and got the player. Seems we try to get them on the cheap
Get them on the cheap or try not to pay over inflated prices? Just because QPR paid £2M doesn't mean that player is worth it. It just means QPR have £2M to spend
Everton fell into that trap too. Bought a load of ***** at circa £20-50 million a head. Just because it's £20 million doesn't make it good.
So we really you do not know what we have bid, but like every club who work to a tight budget , they have to try & get deals at low fees , unless of course your"e a Wigan or a Wednesday , I know which method I prefer
We'll probably use Whiteman as a smoke screen to fend off competition for Shackleton on loan from Leeds. Likewise it will be either Aitchison or Burt, not both. We can't sign all these players.
Or Ross Turnbull. The meltdown their fans had that summer when Turnbull turned down a new contract there to come to Barnsley, and then we went after James Coppinger too.
