    Bootham Crescent.

    Meadow Lane.

    Spotland.

    Proper football grounds.

    Elland Road.

    Hillsborough.

    Valley Parade.

I've based those three on their away ends.

I particularly dislike all these identikit stadiums that have popped up as well.

    Best three:

I always enjoyed going to Ninian Park at Cardiff. Proper old fashioned style ground with a good atmosphere.

Loftus Road also has a feel of an old fashioned English ground. Plonked right in a housing estate and being so tight to the pitch you couldn't see the ball go in the net below you, a lot will disagree with that one but it for me is a cracking little ground.

Last choice is a tough one between Villa Park and St. James park but I'm going to go with Newcastle purely for the atmosphere that they create.

    Worst three:

Keepmoat stadium - it's soundless, small and identical to every other soundless tinpot dome.

Ricoh arena - no atmosphere, no fans and no character.

Middlesborough - again, far too big for a club of their size even when they were in the top flight.

It's a quality build to be fair, and one of the first 'modern' builds. The whole area, externally at least, looks fantastic. But I agree with you on the size of it. They'd need to be back up and challenging for Europe again for it to be regularly full. They were getting gates similar to us for much of 2014.

But yes, the stadium itself, the concourses, the refreshment stands, alcoholic bars, toilets, food, TV screens, huge scoreboard etc, all top notch and the sort of stuff folk on here regularly speak of wanting.

The place itself though is ******* depressing. Middlesbrough. And cold. Always.

The ground can't be knocked I agree, infact it's probably in the top 3 or 4 new builds in the country. For years now though, looking on from the away section and seeing the gap in between the home and away fans growing and growing, row by row is terrible. I mean don't get me wrong, we can't really talk about empty seats, but they have almost 20 thousand empty seats. It's a real shame the clubs don't do more to get young people into the grounds like that, it hurts my head seeing local young lads wearing City, United or Chelsea shirts when they have a professional team on there doorstep.

Best - Oakwell, Wembley and London Road

Worst - Amex, plastic stadium for plastic fans, looks unfinished - Kenilworth Road, I take on what has been said about the character of this hovel but if you're taller than 5'2" there is no leg room at all - Emirates, it should be good but there is no atmosphere at all and it looks like it's made of Lego.

Same here in Bradford. I actually smile when I see a rare Bradford City shirt wearing youngster.
