Sean Bean should have been in The Full Monty instead of Ewan McGregor who should have been in Braveheart instead of Mel Gibson etc. Thought that Billy Connolly should have been in braveheart --- maybe he did too?
Interesting that you think he was miscast as a schoolteacher, when prior to making Kes that was his actual profession! For best casting I'll choose Ralph Fiennes in The Grand Budapest Hotel. Who knew he'd be so fantastic in a comedy role. The worst, hands down, is Sofia Coppola in Godfather III, as others have said. She was so bad that people forget that George Hamilton was cast in a substitute Robert Duvall role. Interesting thing about that film was that Coppola's nephew, Nicolas Cage, was originally due to play Andy Garcia's role, opposite Wynona Ryder, but both pulled out. Had Cage not pulled out he would have been playing the love interest of his cousin! Godfathers I and II are two of the greatest films ever and even part III has it's moments. It would have been a much better film though if they had agreed to give Robert Duvall title billing alongside Al Pacino, if they had found an actual actress to play his daughter and if Pacino had done something with his hair. What was he thinking? Oh, and maybe having the hitman who dresses up as a priest not looking so much like the man playing the Pope. Totally confused my girlfriend at tne time, who wondered what the Pope was doing roaming the countryside with a gun.
Peter Sellars as Inspector Jaques Clouseau. Absolutely Brilliant Steve Martin as Inspector Jaques Clouseau. Absolutely awful
Ewen McGregor, terrible casting in Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. Just dint hev the reight wrist action.
Eric Cantona as Eric Cantona in Waiting For Eric. Brilliant. He looked like him, sounded like him, even moved like him. An amazing character study where he really got under the skin of the role. I've seen some great imitations but you really believe it is him. Conversely, the casting of John Malkovich as John Malkovich in Being John Malkovich was terrible. I mean I have a pretty good ability to suspend disbelief when it comes to film but come on, did anyone really buy John Malkovich as John Malkovich?
Di Caprio is great in Wolf of Wall Street. Also enjoy Kevin Spacey and Annette Bening in American Beauty.
