anyone remember Ken Olivers bullet header from the edge of the penalty area v Leicester in the FA Cup 1961 or Millars curling free kick against Port Vale on Boxing day, goals like that defrost your toes !!!
Most of the goals mentioned are included in this massive compilation I made a couple of years ago. My personal favourite is 5 minutes and 53 seconds in. For obvious reasons. The fact Lee Johnson was the player he Cruyff'd just adds to its glory. However, I will always say Barnard's is the best I've ever seen. It was just something else that. I've seen Howard and Hammill score amazing overhead kicks, goals from 35 yards, solo goals from Bullock, Clint and Paddy, bullet headers, volleys, all sorts. But that Barnard goal is extraordinary. My actual 'favourite' goal remains Brendan O'Connell's second against dem blades in 94-95. Hero to me at the time. He celebrated both goals that day like Winnall does now, pure passion, both tidy finishes, in a huge game, but that second is special, especially with it being in front of the Ponty freshly in ruins. 40 mins and 55 seconds into the video that one. It's the best video I've ever put together. I'd obviously take a few out and include some recent ones if I was doing it again, like. But aye, I think the length puts folk off watching it. The last five minutes of it includes all the proper 'best' goals I think.
I won't watch Sheffield United. I won't watch Sheffield Wednesday. I won't watch Leeds United. Unless, of course, they're blessed by playing the Red Brazil! Oh, and to quote John Motson at 5 minutes 53 seconds, "A quality goal from a quality player".
"Unfortunately, this video is not available in your country because it could contain music from SME, for which we could not agree on the conditions of use with GEMA" I'm in Germany, looks like I'm going to have to mess about.....
That is absolutely the best waste of 40 minutes I could recommend to anyone! You forget just how many good times we have had, and that didn't include this year's highlights.
Just remembered another one. Ant Kay's 40 yarder against Plymouth. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Aye, some of my videos are blocked in Germany. Soz pal. I did it to stop LDRed watching em.
Ha ha, managed to sort it through a VPN, good watch, great video. I only hope that whoever is deciding on Adam Hammill's contract offer watches it and notices the goals in his first spell. Cheers for creating it and posting.
Quality goal. Amazing that Shez managed to outpace their defender, his legs were so short he must've needed double the number of steps.
I remember Currie sticking one in the top corner against Newcastle at the Ponty end..maybe Burridge in goal?..and another Currie goal against Grimsby when He finished off a 20 odd pass move...I love the clips of the goals from the "Old Oakwell"....Loved that montage Whitey..good stuff.
Discos 40 yarder against Plymouth. We score some screamers against them. Remember Fallon bagging one from similar distance for them too though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Barnard v Huddersfield, Thompson v Stoke are my two standout goals. Lots to choose from over the years. And Hammill at Wembley in terms of importance too. Best headed goals? Ward v Tottenham, Aylott v Man City. And I still think one of the best counter attacking goals was the one scored by Van Der Laan away at Fulham in 1999. Miller throw, Eden, Hifnett, VDL, goal. About 10 seconds from start to finish. Sent from my SM-T710 using Tapatalk
Some of my personal favourites taht don't seem to have been mentioned yet. Bruce Dyers against Huddersfield, Adie Moses against Man City. John Hendrie against Manchester United. Craig Hignett against Blackburn. Barnard against Tottingham.
