Big trev v Man City as some have identified. BUT that was almost a mirror image of Odejayi v Chelsea. Both excellent crosses and both excellent headers against world class keepers and you perhaps have to factor in the occasion. I'm going to give oddjob's the vote because it took us to the new wembley for the first time...so, in this order top first..

Can't argue with any of those - especially Barnard.

Honourable mentions to Ward, Redders and Barnard for all three goals against Spurs in the cup. Hard to think of one game with three better goals.

Palace away in PL and Newcastle away in League Cup perhaps his two best... I also loved his close volley against Bolton at home in our promotion year. We had two titanic games against Bolton that season.

 

Too many to pick from but the most memorable was Clint Marcel, sheer heaven an then my Army career took a tumble, watching Barnsley play the likes of Man Ure, Liverpool, Spurs ect, ect, was worth going awol for. Memories, C,O,Y,R.

We'd been outplaying Tottenham in the Fa cup 4th round replay, but they pulled one back late on and it made for a nervy finish.

Neil Thompson's howitzer against Stoke is still the purest strike of a ball I've seen. Right in line of sight of it from my seat at the time.

Can't say anymore about Barnard's v Huddersfield.

And there is one goal I'd love to see again, I don't think I've ever seen TV footage of it. Steve Cooper, renowned for headed goals to be fair, once scored a chip, on the run, from about 35-40 yards out at home to Sunderland in 1989, around Easter time. Tony Norman was in goal, the ball just clipped the crossbar on its way in.

Also remember, more recently, a cracker from Josh Brownhill away at Walsall where there was a bit of a lag in the old brain before I realised it was in the net.
