Aye Clemence was very unlucky to have his career same time as shilts. There was joe corrigan as 3rd keeper too who was very good, he would have got plenty of caps in another era too.
Steve Coppell, but I'm biased as I was at University with him. Saw his last game for England when he got injured at Wembley.
Bryan Robson for me. Never a more committed person to wear an England shirt, IMO. Only Pearce comes close on that score, but for his box-to-box ability, Robson tops the list. Oh and 26 goals in 90 appearances from midfield. Total class player.
Best I've ever seen? In the flesh? Paul Gascoigne. Saw him twice for England - Germany Euro 96 semi final, and a couple of years later against Cameroon (he scored). Best of the rest? Gary Lineker, Chris Waddle, Terry Butcher, Peter Beardsley, David Seaman, John Barnes, David Platt, Stuart Pearce. Alan Shearer, Paul Merson, Teddy Sheringham, Gary Neville, Tony Adams, David Beckham, Paul Scholes. Ashley Cole, Joe Hart, Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere....
