best ever Barnsley signing?

    I have no wish to play down a legend-which Glavin undoubtedly was-but his best days were in the 3rd division.He was probably past his best at Barnsley.Redfearn was always first name on the sheet-not so with Glavin who spent a fair bit of time on the bench-especially away from Oakwell.
    What about Ashley Ward.
    Bought &1.700000.
    Sold £ 5 million
    and great service in between

    Glav was the only reds player I have ever seen who in his heyday terrified the opposition Redders was another favourite of mine but IMHO not in the same class as Glavin

    Glavin by a country mile, Allan Clarke & Neil Redfearn top class signings, Glavin however was legendary and brought inspiration and hope to a town and turned a good team into a great team.

    Surely the best ever signing must be Danny Wilson! Would Redfern have done what he did without Wilson?
