RE: Sound of Music .............is the best but.........My Life is..........SAD Alfie - I wouldn't mind living it! Shallow to t'end me...
Coco The Scab! Fantastic film, watched it loads and absolutely love the soundtrack. I don't mind admitting there's bits that are tear-wrenching...
I would've guessed at Star Wars for thee! Where I might've got that idea from I couldn't possibly imagine!
The best films are mostly the ones you can relate to Although you can't deny classics like the Sound of Music....... But most films I like i have lived the life OR I still live the life Alfie Bridges of Madison County............best love film ever Educating Rita...............I have been Rita Kes The Quite Man...................mothers family I can see me in all of these films
RE: Coco The Scab! My grandad died of Pete Postlethwaite's character's pit induced illness so it holds special feelings for me. Land of bloody hope and glory!
Ketilbert <div>... You MUST set some time aside to watch this film.</div><div>Apart from the superb cinematic photography and some of the finest theme music ever laid down onto soundtrack, I assure you that Claudia Cardinale is one of the most beautiful women EVER to appear on film. Gulp </div>
I sit there crying.........................while slowly turning into Dr. Bruce Banner You wouldn't like to know me angry
RE: Ketilbert It's on my list, mate, and has been for some time (I keep a few months in advance so I've allus summat to watch) - if it's anything like Once Upon A Time In America I will enjoy it! Taken under advisement, cheers!
RE: I would've guessed at Star Wars for thee! THE "dARKSIDE " matey, Tobruk, and Battle of the bulge, and of course the green mile . Starwars are like training manuels, by the way the ale in the club to night has been bang on so has the brandy........................ I THANK YOU.

Gigi? Ishtar? Godfather? Green Mile? Gladiator? Lucky Nurmber Slevin? Trailer Pak Boys? On the Waterfront? Apart from Shawshak Redemption, which is arguably the best film ever conceived and put on to celluloid, wth the exception of the original 'Debbie Does Dallas' there are only two decent films that I can recall over the last 15 years. Scum Nill by Mouth Both starred Ray Winstone and the second one was written and directed by Gary Oldman.
RE: Sound of Music .............is the best but.........My Life is..........SAD </p> Do you mean ' The Quiet Man'? John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara</p>
Hold the front page... Windy in irreverent disagreement and / or intellectually cryptic reply to perfectly legitimate post shocker! Still covering both bases, I see? For the sake of argument I am totally serious about my inability to give a single film as my favourite, provide a definitive list (see the posts further down this thread) and just as serious about the films I find thoroughly entertaining for a number of different reasons. Which point did you think I wasn't being serious about?
bloomin' 'eck, where to start... in no particular order.... Goodfellas Saving Private Ryan Mr Jolly Lives Next Door Ordinary Decent Criminal A Bridge Too Far (a real all star cast, not like the sheeeeite you get nowadays!!) Foul Play (if only for Dudley Moore!) Catch 22 (not as good as the book, but hey, what do you expect?) Battlefield Earth (i jest - this has to be THE worst movie of all time! - no seriously, i can't think of any other film as bad as this, and i've seen manticore AND ss doomtrooper!!) and loads of others but quite frankly, it's mornig and i'm, not awake yet!!
