Re: 1 minute 18 secs Barnards v Huddersfield for me. Got to mention Hendrie's 'Cruyff' style backheel flick off a corner that went thru Kelly's legs and into the net v Blunts at home, promotion season. Recall it was a night game live on Sky and Nicky Eaden scored later to make it 2 nowt. Sheer poetry that couldn't have been scored against a more deserving team...
Apart from all those mentioned above, archy scoring from distance, was it goal of the month? And an Aggy screamer at leicester. Best commentary on a Barnsley goal... Paul walker, odejayi, Chelsea... Still got it on my phone... Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up
Glavin, see 6mins 50 secs in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJHL-yJ9tio&feature=relmfu Headed the cross away and then ran the length of the pitch to score!!
barnards and owen archdeacon also had a screamer from the left which was quality! Best away teams goal i guess Ginola's was pretty good even if its annoying! lol
barnards and owen archdeacon also had a screamer from the left which was quality! Is this at Oakwell? If so then away teams goal - Ginola's was pretty good even if its annoying! lol
Bobby Doyle scoring from just inside his own half in a 3 - 0 win at the Vetch against Swansea, 1975 ish or Ronnie Glavin's cheeky back heal at Chester, 80/81 are two of my Favorites.
Craig Davies at Peterborough last season, fantastic!! Went through every emotion possible that day. Also Brian Howard against QPR on a Tuesday night was pretty special.
Ian Banks vs Cardiff in the league cup 1980 or 81 was without doubt the most amazing goal scored at Oakwell. It was the winner in a 3-2 win and came in the 8th minute of injury time after the score at full-time was 2-1 to Barnsley. Banksy scored with an unbelievable volley just inside the half-way line. Come on, somebody else must remember that game -*police came on the pitch to ask the ref why the game was still going on. Cushions were thrown on the pitch from the West Stand. If not that then I'd go for Disco's down at Plymouth for the best goal I've seen for the Reds.
agreed, that Stoke replay is one of my favourite matches ever. First time I ever stood at Oakwell. I was very young at the time but the seats were sold out. Got in just after kick-off and we scored pretty much immediately, John McDonald I think. The crowd surged forward, and I was literally swept along with a mixture of exhileration and mortal fear.
Jacob Butterfield against Bristol City at Oakwell. If that had been in the Premier League or Champions League it would have been shown time after time after time. The way he beat the two defenders then placed the ball past David James was sublime. In terms of emotion it would have to be Clint's goal against Bradford City.
