Nah, he was just playing against Barnsley... :)

Thing is we are making every team look good, especially at Oakwell. This needs to change, and quickly

Kevin Keegan - Newcastle - think he scored a hat trick at Oakwell - unplayable.

I used to hate Mendonkey but wanted us to sign him so he couldn't take the piss yet again.

Jimmy Kebe for Reading in Simon Davey's last match

Nolberto Solano for Newcastle in a league cup game around 2001

Martyn Waghorn for Leicester a few seasons back

Special mention for Ross Barkley who looked a class apart for Leeds a few seasons ago despite us winning 4-1

Does anyone remember a young winger who played against us for Burnley in the league cup when we beat them 3-2 at Oakwell. Ripped our fullback to pieces all game with his pace and dribbling. Never seen his name since. Think he was south american.

Back in the 1978/79 promotion season

We were playing Stockport County at home, February time I think. County were nearer to the bottom of the Fourth Division table than the top at the time. By the 81st minute, we were winning the game comfortably 4-1. Then their experienced centre forward Les Bradd made an astonishing contribution. He managed to score a hattrick in those closing minutes to snatch an unlikely draw for the visitors, 4-4. Our goalkeeper that day was a youngster called Gary Copley, who was making his one and only league appearance for us*, in place of the injured Peter Springett.

*Copley's only other appearance for us was in the FA Cup the previous season. We lost 2-0 in the Second Round at Grimsby Town. Both goals were scored by Terry Donovan, whose daughter now works as the weather girl on Look North, Keeley.

The BBS Bore has struck once again!:D:D

Fernando Guerrero from Ecuador only played 2 cup games and made several sub appearances?

Ian Wright wright wright - when he played for Palace - pace was electrifying (with appropriate skill to boot) - never seen anything like it before (or since) - trouble is it's that long ago I've forgotten the score although I'm sure we lost - he may have scored two and his foil Mark Bright may have got one also..............can anyone shed anymore light?

Bit young to remember the premiership days but one lad who impressed me was Jordi Gomez a few seasons back for Swansea. Think they bet us 3-1 & he was superb. Jason Scotland had a great game for them that day as well

Duncan Ferguson in the 2-2 draw with Everton.

Not because of skill or continental flair but I don't think I've seen a player lead the line so well and essentially act as a one man team (with the notable exception of Myrhe in goal). Man-for-man we were a much better team that day but he was something else.

    Certainly Prosnecki for Portsmouth.
Also remember John Sheridan conducting Oldham from the centre circle. everything he did was perfection that day..... can't remember when it was, but a good few years ago.
Also more recently, that little coloured kid Alma (?) for Watford, a couple of years ago. tore us to shreds down the wing.

Adam Johnson in a pre-season game against Boro. He was about 12 at the time.

And Prosinecki, think he got a standing ovation from the entire ground when he went off.

Hi Many years ago, towards the end of his career Liam Brady played for West Ham against us at Oakwell. Brady never moved more than twenty yards either side of the halfway line, I can't remember him making a tackle or breaking sweat but totally dominated the game by simply getting the ball under control immediately and hitting 30 or 40 yard defence splitting passes. Total class, God knows what he would have done to our team at his peak.

    Adrian Pennock - Gillingham.

Got outraged at the ref and started playing to the crowd. Went off to a standing ovation from everyone in the ground.

    Dwight Marshall - Plymouth early-mid 90's

Scored a first half hattrick if I remember rightly. He got a standing ovation from us when the third went in.
Always remember thinking I hope we sign him one day. Then he went on to do fook all else. What do I know?!?
