I was 'subtly' suggesting Andy was doing a bit of stirring. Or I thought I was.
I'm not suggesting Andy looks like Brigitte Bardot.:D

Saturday was his first game in a month. Was still the closest player to ending their goal drought with a trademark left foot volley. And he was merely ok in my opinion. Nowt special, but not poor by any stretch. Flashes of quality, but sluggish in some of his play, especially as he tired after 70 minutes. Not bad though for a lad who's played about as often as Paddy has for us. They've gone six games and over ten hours without a goal, he's played 116 minutes in that time, both appearances a month apart. The last time they scored more than a goal, he played and was MOTM. I'd love him in our side.

Opinions on their forum are mixed at best. I don't mind that. They're only giving an opinion, based on very little so far. It's not as though I'm telling them he's amazing. Far from it. I've merely suggested that without a proper run of games he'll continue to show his good and bad side in flashes.
The doubters on there made some good points that I've agreed with - I agree he's unlikely to get a regular run of games under Karanka, he's as negative as his best pal Mourinho. And I agree that he doesn't suit that negative system. He's been played as a second striker, far too high up the pitch. Jacob operated deeper for us, or at least began his good stuff from a deeper position.
Keith Hill told him "just get on the ball, trust yourself like I trust you".

And so if he continues to be in and out at Boro, and isn't wanted by Karanka in the Summer, I've no doubt there'll be another queue for his services. I'd like to think Danny Wilson will be at the front of it, if only because I'd prefer my BFC tickets to cost nowt.

    Thanks for your message.

You Jacob... I mean, you reds.

If he's not a regular starter by the end of the season and doesn't move then I would be questioning what he wants more. Would like like the money rather than enjoyment of playing Football and that would be a big problem for someone at his age.

What do you want Phil, not Butterfield but yourself?

How do you see yourself in 5 years time ? Still stuck in the same routine or change in lifestyle ?

Me I reckon I will be totally changed, working less hours and hopefully have more money in my pocket. Things are going to change for me !!

He'll do what he thinks is best. As he's always done.

And with that, I'm done discussing him for today (once I've found out what Glynn is on about) because it's irrelevant to the thread and I'm off to bed soon, I've been up since 5am, and will be again tomorrow.

    You tired Reds.

Which Ben said If Barnsley stay up they will be able to extend. I would be surprised if it wasn't already in the contract as it was reported Barnsley paid money for him.

Sorry, pal. Assumed you were referring to Butterfield.

I am inclined to agree with you, unless we stay up (rumour has it we've a 12 month option if we stay up).

That's exactly what he did do when he left Norwich to join Boro. He's already shown that he prioritises starting games over earning big money

Agree. Up there with Vaz Te & Hammill in terms of most exciting player we've had.

Loved the way he could beat someone with a feint Zidane-esque

Ogrady in nearly everybody's team. I'm sorry but he's been poor this season in my opinion

Who would you have in front of him though? Bogdanovic? Ferenczi? We've not had many decent strikers since we came up. O'Grady's clearly the best for me

No idea cos a can't even remember who has played up front for us since 2006 but he's been poor since the pigs match at home, which he was non existent in, it's no wonder we have had 8 seasons of struggle if he's our best forward over that period

ok here goes, prepared to be shot down in flames.. These are just the players I reckon had most talent. Don't think the midfield would be particularly balanced.

    1. Muller

    2. Trippier
    3. Shackell
    4. Cranie
    5. Shotton

    6. Hammil
    7. Hallfreddsson
    8. Anderson
    9. McCourt

    10. Vaz Te
    11. O'Grady

Hard to leave out = Butterfield, Howard, Foster, Souza, Colace, Davies, Ferenczi, Devaney and......Frimpong.

Soft spot for: Diego Leon....so much talent, so little use.
