Exactly what I would have written

As a PS Hard to see any of our more recent managers playing 2 such attacking creative midfielders with only the one (and also brilliant) Ray McHale to provide the defensive steel

I cant see us ever having someone of the quality of Glavin again - I just am glad I saw him at his best for us

I even now get a buzz just thinking about the feeling when he got the ball and started to run

Redders for me. Unfortunately, Glavin was just before my time. Would loved to have seen him. Right now, two midfielders I would love in the current squad for different reasons are Martin Bullock, purely to have a go and run at defenders with no fear. The other would probably be Stumpy Darren Sheridan. You could always rely on him for a naughty challenge when we were under the cosh and disrupt the other teams play and make them think I won't do that again.

I never saw Glavin but why can't we aspire to have some like him or someone like Hignett instead of trying to pretend that we can see qualities in talentless toilers like Dawson and Perkins.

I know I've only seen a couple of clips on YouTube and a few minutes action on Saturday, but on those viewings, paddy McCourt looks to be the best dribbler I've seen at oakwell in a long time. Reminded me in a way of king ronnie

    I never saw Glavin, unfortunately.
But Redfearn and Hignett I saw a lot, and they get my vote.
Honourable mentions for Howard, and of course Butterfield (the closest we've been to another Redders in terms of shooting with either peg and dominating a game).

    King Ronnie and Neil Redfearn
Was thinking of choosing Robbie Williams but Davey didn't know what he was doing

There's a lot of folk quoting redders, but

He struggled in a 4,4,2. He was much, much better in a 3,5,2 when he was allowed to be a bit more adventurous going forward.

He used to do my head in, particularly when he was partnered by O'Connell. Always good for a goal or two though and certainly flourished for 2 seasons. Not nearly in Ronnie's class imho.
