Millmoor, 13 December 1980 when we beat them 1-0 in the cup in the middle of a long unbeaten league run, it was electric.

Everybody now... "Oh Ronnie Moore's a wnaker..."

Worst I've experienced was Southend, just before Christmas 1992, open end, pi$$ing down, Stan Collymore hattrick, 3-0 defeat. Never been as cold at a football match, never seen Barnsley offer less than they did that day just a week after beating champions elect Keegan's Newcastle, at Oakwell. Not one scrap of atmosphere, even the Southend fans wanted to go home it was that cold and miserable.

Portman Road is as quiet as a graveyard.

There's something strangely intimidating about the atmosphere at Molineaux.

Atmosphere at our FA Cup game there in 81 was one of the best I've experienced...In fact all the north east games were decent before Boro and Sunderland relocated and St James Park rose to touch the sky...

Worst - Roker Park one Saturday in October in the 90s - flat (just before we had a bigger away game at Newcastle in the Cup)
Or Darlington, Bristol Rovers (at Twerton Park), Wigan or Swindon away. More recently Bolton at the Reebok - rubbish.

Best - surprisingly Southampton at the Dell; Leicester at Filbert St; Liverpool,

    It's all those underpasses.

Surprised at the number of people mentioning Crewe. I like it there - proper ground, right near the station, it's nice to get a side stand as an away fan and the atmosphere in our end was pretty good last season (that away win... that Lita goal...). Great pub too, although it's a bit of a walk. Definitely on my list of games to go to next term.

Roherham at Millmoor in the Clarke/Hunter years will take some beating. Filbert street was always 'bracing' as was the Victoria Ground. Oxford at the Promotion party game was a memorable day. I'm going for Anfield though always a great atmosphere and we usually win.

Worst. Southend throughout the 90s I went every game they were all *****. I have never liked the County Ground. Quiet and *****. Winner has to be Vicaage Road crap ground, quiet and we always lose usually after you have been legged through the allotments on the way to the away end.

The promotion party at Oxford was astounding for many reasons, including my realisation that they appeared to have constructed a football ground mostly from assorted second hand bike sheds. Plus the linesman with no arms was quite a novelty.
