For some reason, I've always liked Molineux. There's a nasty class of people there, I know, but I always thought the stadium itself was lovely. Worst ground has got to be Millmoor, surely?
You didn't go to Molyneux then in the mid 80's when there was just one big stand that was closer to Walsall's pitch than Wolves (not really of course) and some standing behind one of the goals, with the other 2 stands closed as they had been condemned.
I know. I'd have only been about 7 at the time. First time I ever went was a 0-0 draw in the 94/5 season. Watson saved a penalty in the last minute.
Wigan's old ground Take away all local prejudices where we just have a dig for the sake of it and Wigan's has to be the worst. A total **** heap. As for the best. All the post Taylor report grounds seem the same to me. Nowt wrong with 'em. The facilities are spot on and the views tend to be very good, but you could be anywhere. Much of a muchness. The old grounds had individual charachter. I liked Burnley's which was set out so well. The atmosphere in the way end at Rotherham was fatastic when we could still stand. But my favourite was Leicester. You seemd so close to the pitch and the low roof due to the two tired stand made the noise incredible as witnessed when Lowndes and Currie scored in the FA cup victory under Machin. Still got tinnitus after that.
Nou Camp or Stadio Lisbao if not with Barnsley City of Manchester Stadium if with Barnsley Worst, and I've done 60+, is honestly Doncaster.
So Many To Choose From But.... to look at only and not the memories. i like reebok stadium and glapharm stadium. i hated millmoor and elm park.
Best - Wembley or JJB Stadium. Kc Stadium was pretty impressive too. Worst - Toss up between York City's and Chesterfield's
I remember going to Shrewsbury to see the Reds on New Years Eve a few years ago and loved the place. Proper football ground with frost on the pitch and the statue of Robert Clive popping his head over the home end. I think that Hillsboro is now looking its age... but the worst views got to be Grimsby.
Errrm Best.... ? Worst = Chester, Rotherham U, Doncaster Rovers, Reading and many more. (1976- 1982 era)
Forgot Oxford City And the mad battle between 200 Toffs against mi dad and 4 of mi mates! House bricks and plant pots do work, honest!
Best - St James's Park - Newcastle - Went to watch them against Man Utd (Uncle works for Shepherd so get free tickets)- the toon army no how to sing up their (half of them with their shirts off!) Worst - Doncaster - by far
