I have been pretty underwhelmed with what I have seen so far. I think we are some way off last season's team. Would be pleasantly surprised if we go up via the play offs, but think we have very little chance of automatic.

We were pretty underwhelming last season until we hit our stride. I think we'll be top 4 as a minimum.

No idea. But found this based on player wages alone. Obviously they dont have 100% facts. But I would have thought much nearer the truth. Given we are trying to get to break even. Or at least within the rules.

Be interesting to see what Iseka is still costing.
Contract doesnt run out till 2025. And available for recall in January.

    From Capology

    2023-2024 Barnsley Salaries and Contracts

Barnsley (League One) Total Gross Salaries for the 2023-2024 Season is £4,685,200, or £90,100 per week. The Highest Paid Player at Barnsley is Max Watters (Centre-Forward), who is 24 years old.

All salary figures are estimates as actual salaries may vary. Unverified players are calculated using algorithms, or sourced from reporting that has not been confirmed yet.

I might have another bet with him. By the end of the season I could be taking ownership of his house, his wife, his kids and your inheritance.

The last time in league 1, 2019, the club had a payroll of £8.1m. It should be noted that there is a big difference between the total playing salaries and the total employee costs. In the last accounts BFC had 148 people employed in footballing activities, 16 admin and commercial and 122 Match day staff.

If those 148 were all just paid £15 an hour, total employment costs would be more than the total you quote above, allowing for Employers NI.

There is a slim chance that the club have been quiet on a few matters recently, due to their time being taken up by other matters. Whether or not this is linked to the ‘big news’, we don’t know…..

I'm not Herbie Kanes greatest fan, but if Max Watters is our top earner, then no wonder he wants out, I'd imagine there's a few looking for a hefty pay rise if he's the bench mark.

The squad we had in that season. I would imagine, far outstrips the bill we have today.
This board today are adamant in decreasing the wage bill. To a more manageable level.
Oulare and Iseka will appear on the 2023 ballance sheet. Not sure how much of their wages and probably Oulares pay off will be accounted for.

I think we have a massive chance of going up automatically. It's been a fantastic start to the season.

We have no devine right to win games and good luck to Fleetwood. You're always going to get results like that through the season. It's a shame it's followed up a few early home defeats from a timing perspective but you can't win em' all.

On to finances. I don't need any "big news". It looks at long last like we have owners that put their money where their mouths are.

I'd support more if I could. It's looking like I might be at the Carlisle game now.

Seems everyone is taking the **** of the fowls for their “model”, ours doesn’t seem much more sustainable, but on a much smaller scale obvs.

The documents relating to this share issue for BFC Investment Company Limited are now on the Hong Kong Companies Site. This transaction was made on 9th October 2023 and, as @Archerfield mentioned in the opening post, it is the balance of the issue from August not taken up by Chien Lee and PMG.

£2,419,722 was raised in August and this issue is for a further £1,180,278 to take the total for this 'round' to £3,600,000. A further 29,506,950 new shares in BFC Investment Company were issued on 9th October at 4p each, raising the £1,180,278.

All of these new October shares were taken up by Neerav and JAQ:-

Neerav Parekh (Abhajay Investments) took 25,582,545 of the new shares ('A' shares) for £1,023,302

Julie Anne Quay (Jamakepe Investments) took 3,924,405 of the new shares ('A' shares) for £156,976

This allocation continues to cement both Neerav's prominence and the vast dilution of Lee and PMG's holding and any real lingering influence they may have. There have now been 150,000,000 shares issued in total and I calculate the resultant shareholdings currently as:-

    A Shares

Neerav Parekh (Abhajay) 83,381,262 shares which is 55.59% of the company (70.63% of the A shares)

Julie Anne Quay (Jamakepe) 15,000,000 shares which is 10.00% of the company (12.71% of the A shares)

Chien Lee 13,800,000 shares which is now just 9.20% of the company (11.69% of the A shares)

Pacific Media Group 5,871,300 shares which is now just 3.91% of the company (4.97% of the A shares)

    B Shares

Oakwell Holdings Limited (Crynes) 31,947,938 shares which is 21.30% of the company

(A reminder that the main distinction between the A shares and B shares is that the holder(s) of over 50% of the A shares appoint up to 4 members of the company's Board, the B shares just 1).

Brilliant work by you guys as usual..
As Neerav has over 70% of the "A" shares does he effectively now own BFC....

On a slightly different note I really don`t understand the EFL issues we have at the moment and why we needed to self-report (?) ourselves to them.
Can anyone explain in easy to understand terms what the club may be in trouble for?

I'd say this gives him pretty much full control - he can control the make up of the Board of the HK holding company and hence the appointments to the club's Board. (In practice he seems to want to keep JAQ and the Crynes fully involved).
