You can hold a view on the Open Day and cite improvements around certain aspects and the communications of it. But to say it’s as bad as it’s ever been is just inaccurate. I remember it a few years ago and it was absolutely dreadful.

I think if some of those who only saw the setup in the East Stand knew about the activities in the academy centre their mindset would be different. Which means there’s a springboard there to improve it using a lot of the ideas they put on last week. With some minor improvements and tweaks.

He was removed because of the poor initial season ticket sales and the anger and distrust the fans had with the club.
We still have the same clueless CEO in charge .

False. The process to remove him began when relegation wasn’t even on the cards and season ticket sales were over 10,000.

I know you’re fishing though. I just couldn’t help but reply.

So brexit Barnsley fans think it's better because they are British and we want gravy on things.

    Fecking hell.

Small time Barnsley strikes again and we wonder why people rejected the club last season based on fans and the town. .

The process to purchasing additional shares to stop him and lee having 50%? Or the process to end his fixed term 4 years as nominee of the American investors?

There's still so much about all of this which seems weird like didn't they claim they only found out the American investors existed when Dane Murphy opened his mouth and let the cat out of the bag? That seems very weird to me

Goodness. You don't see the benefit of having a British coach with a long history of working in the English leagues rather than a coach from the lower leagues of another country? Goodness

If you are genuinely trying to say that the club was run well under Conway and Lee then you are living on cloud cuckoo land.

I don’t see it as that weird but I’m sure I’ll be told otherwise. PMG, a company owned by Paul Conway, bought the shares. The fact that he was representing investors probably didn’t need to be disclosed as in theory it was his money. I’m guessing it would have been PMG on all the documents too.

Those closer to what the HK company breakdown looked like 2-3 years ago might be able to advise better than me on that though. I’m purely commenting on my own perception of it.

    That’s because it’s true, right?

And you know this is wrong. But if you get a kick out of repeating it then fill your boots. Would hope you can entertain yourself better than this though.

Wish he'd entertain himself in private rather than sharing it with everybody else.
Completely unable or unwilling to recognise common sense but then he's not alone in that on this thread.

Loko in order to retain credibility you need to accept certain things.

An Open Day where visitors can't get into the friggin stadium is not an Open Day.

When you can't even get into the ground you're starting and finishing with a circus in the car park.

    Which was largely missing anyway.

That's that. Didn't bother me, but to try and big up what went on is ridiculous.

The money went in because it had to . We were
I just don't believe this praise that the new directors are getting is warranted ! I've not renewed because I've not seen anything substantialy changed. You can sit here and think that the removal of Conway was well in place before relegation. I don't accept it . Just my opinion and the reason I've not renewed four tickets that we have had numerous seasons.

I didn’t try to big it up. I just said it wasn’t the worst one in history.

You’ve also kind of proven the point I was making by saying it started and finished in the car park. It didn’t. But plenty of people didn’t realise that and as a result the club have some work to do on their comms, because if attendees had found everything that was going on much easier than the opinion would be slightly different.

Sounds like it's still a massive jumble and could well be prone to all sorts of change going forward. People buying share off each other and forming blocks to take control.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I wonder if the Cryne family regret selling as they are still involved but in the middle of this shambles of owners.

So basically a shambles of their own creation then? You’ll soon be outcast if you keep up with this line of thinly veiled, near treasonous talk about the saints!

In future I'm going to try and focus on on-field matters, but I have to admit that I'm baffled...

Generally speaking, people buy shares in a company in order to benefit financially. They expect to benefit either by receiving a decent annual dividend or by seeing the value of their shares increase over time, then selling for a profit. I don't see either of these things happening any time soon. It was baffling enough when I thought that Patrick had sold the club to a consortium of 3 or 4 investors, but to see the full range of fingers in the pie is utterly mystifying. Why would so many people think they'll make money from shares in BFC? These people aren't local business folk with an emotional attachment to the club, they are (I assume) savvy financial investors. I just don't get it at all.

Almost the opposite in some ways. Perhaps the investors took advantage of a terminally ill man?

I agree with you, but the funny thing is they were all two games away from making a serious amount of money!
