Is Match of the Day shown live mate or do they record it earlier? Just wondering how much time they actually have to review the games. Also, a few years ago, didn't MOTD come on in the early evening for a while before being switched back to half 10? Just wondered why that was.

No, we do it live. There have been odd occasions in the past where there's only been a couple of games that we've pre-recorded the show, but the day Di Canio got sacked by Sunderland put paid to that. We pre-recorded MOTD 2 that Sunday only for the club to give him the boot as we were all on our way home - made us look a bit off the pace!!! So no more pre-records. MOTD has always been on late. ITV's short-lived effort came on at around 7.00pm, I think, but they soon abandoned that when they realised everyone was still in the pub.

It got moved back to half 10 because of the low ratings it got at 7, not sure about the rest though
