Styles hasn't felt like our player for a number of years. He spent half his first season on loan to Bury. He's also had lengthy loan spells with Millwall and Sunderland. There was the season when Val was in charge but most of us never saw him because of covid. In 7 seasons (including this) he's made 151 appearances of which 96 were made in two seasons 2020-2022.

Nah. He didn't want to play with us, he effectively downed tools to force a move and his wages were blocking transfer activity. IMO it's the opposite. Keeping him would have weakened us.

Let's hope this is the our domino frees up wages and hopefully a few quid to spend. The only downside and I fully accept old Callum didn't want to be here but he was a rare animal been left sided.

Clearly it’s better for the club not to have a player on its books that didn’t want to play for us and if DC comments are correct went whatvalmost amounts to on strike.
That said the club are right to act professional and to wish him luck in the future.
They don’t have to mean it and may be glad to be rid but it’s basics, lowering our standards to reflect his is not the right way.

In fairness Darrell said that Callum had acted in a very professional manner during training etc.
Like most players when a big move is imminent their mind will have a million things going through it.
It seems the coach decided not involve him not so much Callum himself.

I agree what he’s done is wrong but abusing him on social media is poor especially when some of them doing it are grown men with children

I’m confused by the abuse tbh, I think both Kane and Cole downed tools for 1/2 season at a critical time and put payed to our very real chances of an automatic spot last season, they waited for their contracts to run out without risking injury and walked away. Styles signed an extension to his contract - which I’m sure he didn’t have to, he went on loan to clubs to try and sign for them - it was their decisions not to sign him. He stayed fit and available to play - never fained injury, as far as we know he always turned up to training and out the same effort in as anyone else, he played when picked and didn’t make any fuss when he wasn’t. He didnt play as well for us after Val, but then who did? He certainly wasn’t the worse player when he did play for us. Bizarre attitude towards him.
