Mladen return to high press attacking style let's hope the next head coach is given the tools to do the job. Can't help thinking Conors got what he wanted.
Not been very impressed with Clarke but you have to feel for the bloke given the lack of support he’s had. Sormaz should definitely have been the first to go. All about the owners worrying about season ticket renewals this. Common feeling was always that Conor would be their fall back. 10 games to get himself the job.
Duff won't work under this lot again they reason he left in first place as told he had to bring kids through from academy
Next week the be saying club losing money every month n the wonder why when throw coach under bus with no support then sack. This sacking all about season ticket renewals just round corner not forgetting the took piss last year with season ticket saying hourihane joining as a player
Clarke wasnt helped by poor recruitment, and the board Mladen should be held accountable for that.... But.... Clarke was also utter gash. Top performers went backwards under his management, and our playing style has consisted of hoofing the ball for the few strikers we have, to chase. His game management was also questionable with the amount of points dropped from winning positions. For me, 50% of the problem has been rectified. Now for the remaining 50%....
I really wanted it to work out for Clarke, he seems like a top bloke who worked super hard to deliver success. That statement concerns me, some might disagree, but the obvious thing to do is to go and get Michael Duff. That doesn’t seem like it’s the plan. My real worry with that statement is that we end up after another Thalhammer because he plays high pressing football regardless of the actual results he produces. I’ve been an advocate for stability but I can’t see how you can remove the manager and not the dof. Mladen hasn’t fronted up to Jan recruitment and now he’s talking like the league position is nothing to do with him whilst seemingly blaming the style of play for it. I wanted to hear accountability and an understanding that recruitment needed to improve and be built on in the summer. That statement does none of that, it worries me more than anything.
Called this weeks ago, said Clarke would be made the sacrificial lamb and Hourihane until EOS absolutely pathetic They will now turn abroad mark my words to an absolute yes man, Sormaz should go, that statement from him just confirms what a mess we are in, controlling and now changing his failed playing style into something we haven't the players to execute. Nothing against him personally but the guy is an absolute disaster, if Nareev wants this club to progress which I suspect he does then take back control of your football club from this guys ideas, it's killing us.
I have read how badly supported DC as with the signings. Let us see if these picking the team now can get a tune out ot them. Because I'm sure these players are not that poor. I watch with interest.
What a crock of **** The man responsible is still in charge and hourihane has been given the job to complete the absolute ******* disgusting stitch up
I'd rather play kids from academy over some of our experienced players. Especially way they've been performing.
Inevitable exit and he ultimately wasn't the right person for the role. I'm relieved that they're not rushing to fill the role permanently as we can see over 10 games whether or not Hourihane can get anything better out of the imbalanced squad of players that the HC is expected to get a tune out of. It's essentially an extended job interview where there's little at stake from the games to be played. Regardless of what the press release says, the play-offs are out of sight, so it's 10 dead rubber games from here. Nothing else has changed, other than the removal of DC, so any improvement from here can reasonably be attributed to CH's abilities in the role now that he's out of the shadows. Much as he's been part of the set-up under DC, it's unclear how much of an influence he's been allowed to have as one of the coaches working under him. Now he has to step up and manage the other coaches around him too, so we'll see if there's any improvement arising from that. More importantly, I don't want to see another permanent appointment made where Sormaz is part of the decision making process. He was responsible for recruiting DC, whom hindsight has shown wasn't a good appointment, and that only came about after the farcical situation prior to that with Thalhammer, who also looked like a dubious choice, based simply on the fact that he'd gone public about things prior to being appointed to the role and suggesting that his work permit issues were a blessing in disguise. Taking that into account, and also looking at the squad of players we have now, I see no way that his position is going to be viewed as tenable by the fanbase in general, and there's already a very obvious theme along those lines in the earlier responses to this thread.
Gutted to an extent for Clarke. So much wrong with the recruitment. Mladen needs to come off analytics. Altogether (or go) . And allow the coach (new) to put his imprint on the team. Fekk the philosophy throughout the teams. It's not working
Let’s never have a go at anyone re loyalty to Barnsley fc cos we don’t show any whatsoever to head coaches it’s no wonder we have never really built anything and just lurch from one issue to another, it’s all built on shifting sand.
