Bromsgrove away in cup Seem to recall we were awful and up until then and Wilson wasnt exactly popular. We turned it round late in game and Wilson won a few over that day. I think this is when the good times started and the 1st seeds for the prem were put in place.
Re: Bromsgrove away in cup turning point for bfc........... well as you are going along Pontefract Road towards Lundwood, turn left just before the Oakwell sandwich shop. hope this helps
Plus points - Cryne, Clarke, Hunter, Wilson, Glavin, Aylott, Hignett, Currie, Redders, the crowds of the early 80's, the atmosphere of the early 80's. Prem season, cup run to Wembley, new East stand, standing on the Ponty end, Marcelles goal(s), Rankins goal. 33k v Man City. 1-0 v Chelsea. Bad points - sitting at the Ponty end, Spackman, Parkin, DAVEY, persevering with Davey, believing Davey had listened and was going to change, the Ipswich match, Willard, sacking Hunter, the strike causing the end of an era never to be seen again, turning 16 and having to pay grown-ups prices, Regis, Bedau, Morgans assault, Nardiellos demise, Andersons demise, Lumsdens demise, Parky defecting to Reading. 6-0 v Chelsea.
I don't know how you can mention Davey in the same phrase as Spackman.Davey was a million times the manager that Spackman ever was.
