simple. People are almost demanding the club take action. The question of hypocrisy comes in if people expect the club to act but wouldn't act themselves.

I just read this - not sure I followed all of it but to my less than stellar financial brain its a pyramid scheme with an extra layer in so it doesnt quite fit the classical Ponzi definition

Really cant believe the club touched these with a barge pole. Surely someone like Zuk must have at least had a quick look and pulled the emergency cord

Having conducted about an hour's research into Hex.com and its founder Richard Schueler aka Heart, I wonder if the club did the same thing as part of due diligence in accepting a new sponsor. The aim of shirt sponsorship after all is promoting something and like it or not, the club in the wider context becomes associated with that sponsor.
Various reports indicate that Schueler has had previous run ins with law suits and regulators for mounting spam campaigns from a Panamanian base. Around the time Bitcoin was first rising to attention he was engaged in marketing anti-aging products. The maths involved in bitcoin is staggering and I for one am not sure that this man accords with the profile of a crypto mathematician
I think the club has got this wrong on two counts, assuming they did any due diligence:
Firstly, factored in with the known profile of the driving force behind it, there is a sufficient perception to be readily found that this may be a scam. Sometimes the perception is enough. If the whole thing does turn out to be a scam, the club's public image will be diminished at best, or at worst it could have helped promote a scam where people were conned out of money.
Secondly, perhaps an unintended consequence, the club's fans who express dissent/doubt at Hex in social media have been the subject of visceral and at times, unlawful attacks
Below is my take on what Hex is and isnt according to the research I was able to do. I could be wrong of course.
Hex.com,s own website has a disclaimer that you are not receiving any currency for your investment. It also states that if you do not know how to code you should engage the services of someone who does. I think this would be beyond the means of an average person
My opinion of the Hex offer (although it is so oblique- I could be wrong) is that you swap etherium (an actual crypto-currency) for a certificate of deposit (CD) into the Hex network. The network is based on trying to change a forked code within the etherium network. According to its own website, Hex appears to do nothing but change the value of listed numbers. Given this is a forked code, I am not sure what the actual utility of this is. Contrast this with Bitcoin where miners who verify coins change the value of an evolving equation within a protocol (blockchain).
Rewards are given at a later date based on the increase in value of the Hex tokens which you are given in return for being part of the group. It appears that the only increase in value that can come is if more people join the group to keep inflating the value of the Hex tokens, but even then it is not apparent that there is any value in a Hex token other than in other Hex tokens.
One can see why people think this is a pyramid scheme or probably because reward appears to rely on further investment, it fits the profile of a Ponsi scheme.

He needs a (second) life ban from the bbs. He supports antisemitism the utter lovely person (sorry). He is the worst horrible individual this bbs has ever had the displeasure of allowing to post.
If he doesn't get fecked off from the bbs I think I'm done

If hex.com isn't owned by anyone (as they claim) then how exactly has it got a copyright notice in it? Who is it copyright of? A computer?

You're overreacting, mate! In fact, all Jews are. How can they be offended by something as insignificant as Anti-Semitism, when the real offensive **** is said by a pre-pubescent American in an online game. They don't know they are born, these Holocaust survivors...

Sorry about that I forgot how bad online gaming lobbies were. It's much much worse than someone being the target of antisemitic abuse for daring to support Barnsley fc.

I suspect the real issue is that the thick ******* doesn't know what antisemitism is

Just jumping in here. You are aware he’s been banned a good couple of hours now? Can probably tone down the replies/posts as if he’s reading them and move on.

I don’t want an online echo chamber, but somethings are so callous, crass and indefensible that something needs to be done.

I don’t think the BBS would allow under 18s to sign up and post here and neither should it allow people who post as though they are 12 repeatedly. We’re all allowed a faux pas, but this is a constant stream of contrarianism and frankly, bile. Needs knocking on the head now. The club and the world have enough problems at the moment without intentionally allowing people to defend hatred and flout human decency.

That's a very valid and welcome bit of jumping in Loko. Site admin have definitely made the right decision.

    Also I think you're right on toning it down a bit. I apologise. He's still a **** though :)

Thank's for letting us know Loko. I wasn't aware he'd been given the boot. Some people don't know a good thing when they have it....

He might not be aware yet, because he'll be at the Boro game with all the proper fans.

Sad he feels the need to mention it on another forum. He needs proper help. His mental health isn't right. I hope he gets the help he needs.
