It would certainly be a very welcome step if the next name to appear on our shirts was say Rainbow Reds or some charity/cause associated with LGBTQ+
would be a wonderful gesture, but we're still skint. probably even more skint as a result of terminating the hex deal. not sure we can afford to lose out on sponsorship money, which I'm guessing we would do if we went down a charitable foundation route.
I don't think it would hurt for one game, I'm not expecting an imminent replacement to be announced so they have time to make that gesture and acknowledge just what they've inflicted on parts of our fanbase.
Putting a charity on our shirt can't even be done right. We were supposedly auctioning off the Plymouth shirts and a fortnight later still nothing.
It'd be sensible too if the club updated the Equality Policy published on it's website that was due for review in March 2021. (Also the Safeguarding Policy given the import of the underlying issue, although that's only 2 months overdue and has at least been signed by a current director, unlike the Equality Policy).
There's a number of things I'd like the club to do. I've long called for a local selection of NED's and an independent fan representative not linked to the Trust to be more closely aligned to the cub to advise it and guide it and cover all core disciplines. It's by far the most cost effective way to add bodies, business acumen and skill to a very very small team of administrative people. I'm also not sure the CEP role serves us well and I'd be keen to review the structure, how decisions are made, who is responsible for what and create a better more robust more accountable structure that had some rigour and scrutiny from the board and NED's. I'd also be keen to use any savings to look for someone to oversee ESG at the club. It's a vital area given what you've rightly outlined in your post on equality, but also our lack of progress on environmental aspects. I don't think it will happen, but wanting our club to do the best it can to enhance its place in the world and society can only be a good and noble thing.
