I’m sure those on the FAB will also be doing their best to help fellow supporters. For the record, there’s nothing stopping any number of supporters from forming their own group and making their own voices heard. But in this day and age, it’s far easier to shout from behind a screen on the internet. And whilst I think that medium also has its uses, you can’t affect change without alternatives on the table.
It’s an odd one isn’t it? I don’t post all that often, and I make a point of not criticising individual players. However, there would be little point in having a forum if people were not able to express their thoughts as to the state of the club and their own relationship with it. For my part, I am probably as disappointed as I can remember in terms of how the club is being run. I was one of those people who planned holidays, birthday celebrations etc, around the fixture list. I introduced my two sons to the club, and my grandson is also a season ticket holder. But I can honestly say that I have not enjoyed visiting Oakwell for quite some time, and that my season ticket purchase is increasingly difficult to justify. I was hoping that the transfer window would do something to rekindle things (a winger and the flexibility to do something other than this God awful 352 set up) but that appears to have been a forlorn hope. Finally, it’s a readily accepted principle in business that genuine complaints should be welcomed, because disgruntled customers who don’t complain usually vote with their feet. I do fear that many of our fellow supporters have already started to do so.
I don't know if the club engage with the supporters trust as much as it used to. In fact I'm pretty sure they don't. A couple of those on the trust were either voted onto or invited to join the FAB. One in a representative capacity. To me they should be treated as 2 different entities. And given equal status. The Fan engagement group has been, I imagine disbanded. On the fact most stuff that went through them is now covered by the FAB One or two others on the Trust act as fan liason officers and do outstanding work although not always appreciated. Not everyone is on an ego trip as some wish to think but all care about the club and the fans in equal amounts. So those that think they are arse lickers. Give it a rest, they on the whole do it on a voluntary basis. Actions speak louder than words. Sat at a keyboard is easy.
Yeah - it's nice to have friends like Gally who can get people banned on here for disagreeing with you. That's what friends are for innit?
