Would be pleased to see this come off. Probably will pay more than 1 mill: would be extremely good value if we didn’t, but his wages, most importantly, will be affordable. He should develop into a cracking player. Only fault I can see bing problematic is his predilection for running after the ball when the opposition are in possession and leaving large gaps behind him, especially when playing in a 442 midfield. That’s said all positive news this.
I'm sure that all season long loans can be recalled in the transfer window. I don't think it's a deal specific clause anymore. Not certain though so don't quote me.
I think any offer we make will be immediately doubled by the parent club. They know we've got money sloshing about. I imagine a £1m offer means we're prepared to pay closer to 2
You have to take this as a positive , imagine if another Championship club had made a bid for him while we sat back , at least if it does not come off , we will have tried & that in itself speaks volumes
Seen nothing concrete only rumours on the Pinnock fee. We paid a million for McGeehan but this was on the back of some big transfers received in the previous 12 months or so.. Stones, Holgate, Hourihane, Mawson, Bree etc etc. This is their first offer on their first player, and l don't think this will be our main signing this window.
I've heard Wednesday want to recall Winnall, but they can't. And last season Derby couldn't get Chris Martin recalled either. So it's not as simple as something that can just be done by a club.
Get this done and we are on our way to an expensive squad by the club's terms. Him mcgeehan thiam and pinnock. Think forest green said local paper said 500k plus add ons
I would have thought if they do rate him highly at Everton, any deal may include a buy-back clause, or at the very least - first option on any future sale. In that case it might be a no lose situation for the toffees.
Tbf a million doesnt seem too bad if he keeps it up. Pinnocks been mint last few games. Could be something proper special
It's a opening bid I guess, as said by earlier posters & would no doubt need to rise significantly. That said it shows that the new owners want to hang on to our good performers. If Holgate did leave Everton in the window, we'd have a significant sell on from that, so there could be a deal there. With Big Sam coming in & needing strikers, it may be a well timed bid.
