Re: Norwood sounds a promising player

According to their site, their local rags are reporting that the bid was under 100k. Not too bad a bid for a player thats played the majority of his football in the bottom 2 divisions with Doncaster, Swindon & Brighton and the wrong side of 30. Their supporters are wanting 750k plus for him, we wanted £2 million for Vaz Te but we got 500k for the best goals to games striker in the division, sometime you don't always get what you want.

Lets hope The Don ups to the bid to 150k and throws in Nouble if he returns.

Delusions of grandeur? Brighton are no more guilty than certain Yorkshire clubs. But at least the said Yorkshire clubs have a bit more history than a cup run in the eighties. Laughable to say the least.

Let's knock the homophobic drivel on the head though. The forum on the club site was shut down for racism - rightly or wrongly - lets not have this go the same way. There's no need for it anyway, do you think tarn have no gay fans? Or players?

Feckin ridiculous to take it there anyway when they give us enough to banter about with their view that it's inevitable they'll be in the premiership and challenging for honours in the near future.

I believe in fairies, the Easter bunny, and Keith Hill.

'Let's knock the homophobic drivel on the head .........I believe in fairies'......a tad incongruous

Or maybe I don't associate the word fairy with homosexuality.

Because I'm not Bernard manning and it's not 1976.

Re: Norwood sounds a promising player

It's embarassing we thought we could get the club captain of a side that just missed out on the play offs so cheaply. Not only that but a guy who nearly got their player of the year award.

Also will he count as one of the four or five established championship players we are trying to bring in? That in itself brings up the discussion of when a player can finally be called established in the championship. Is one season like Greer has had enough? If he suffered from second season syndrome would he lose his tag of being an established championship player? For me someone should have at least two seasons at this level before being called established. For example J.O.B.

Offer 250k tops given his lack of football in the top half of the footballing pyramid and his age, if he was a 22 year old it may be a different story.

Re: I know Greer is a big centre half

Didn`t Hill put in a skinny bid for Jason Pearce last season?

It depends on your interpretation of skinny

The bid was within budget and affordable to the club. I wonder whether Portsmouth could claim the same?

Perhaps the player and/or his family have failed to settle in the area?

A transfer away from a club is not always for footballing reasons. Just a thought.

Pretty similar. Both have 12 months on their contracts remaining, both are main players in their teams etc.
