    This argument is a bit flawed to be honest. Very few folk use their real name.

    Any company doing due diligence and bothering to look up someone on a forum is not gonna stop at one comment, surly they would read the whole thread and see Nudgers comments as retaliation.

    Probably wouldn’t get the job anyway as they would see the person publicly calling folk out as racist

    Eeek. Let's not introduce a rule which says that a persons has to be on line to defend themselves from comments on this Board. I don't think Mr Johnson will want to join and I'm certainly not digging up Mr Thatcher.

    Possibly. But I think I'm coming from a place where I didn't defend or play down his comments just suggested there was context and discussed what the motive of those comments was. I never said it was a positive context or a positive motive, but it appears that's what I've had to defend for the last two hours.

    Definitely intended as a hand grenade this thread, agree with Loko.

    My recollection of nudger was that he used the rapist terms to prove a point, although i dont agree with it and glad hes no longer on here.

    Dont believe he really believed a lot of the stuff he posted, just knew how to push buttons.

    This thread is embarrassing as he'll be both reading it and loving the attention.

    I have to say that this post of yours is complete tosh.

    I regularly understand Loco's position and admire his patience in expounding it.

    He's ideal for admin. Far more so than the vast majority of those who tend to take issue with him.

    I like a lot of stuff you say about things in general but the way you go about it sometimes comes across as really patronising and with an air of superiority.

    All Loko has and often does is add balance to a situation (he'd make a good CBT therapist actually!)- without all the exaggeration that we get from others- in order to paint a fair picture. That is what Admin should do IMO and it doesn't equate to defending someone.

    Another example: Posters 1 and 2 have an argument about the use of a sexist term. Poster 1 says, "you can't say that, you're clearly sexist!" Poster 2 retorts, "no im not, how would you like it if I called you an XYZ?". Months later the argument is recalled and people are saying poster 2 called him an XYZ... Loko steps in and says, "well actually you're missing the context here, it was because of this".... sorry but how is that wrong? Because I genuinely believe that is all that has happened here. The only difference being that YN acted more childishly than my example but this was the point- rightly or wrongly- he was making to defend himself.

    But is it not safer to just not post serious insults to others on social media, no matter the context? When I handled the recruitment for my old job, it was amazing how easy it was to link a Facebook or Twitter account to other forms of social media. One bloke looked a good bet, until after 15 minutes of digging we found our way to a random, niche forum where he was "named and shamed" for spending his time trying to catfish cross-dressers to get photos to send to their families. The link was a really weak one on the surface, but easy to find if you knew what you were doing.
