Not sure what contribution you are refering to Hayes back heel put Shuker clean through. Hayes is quality, Conlon is wooden.
being played out of position? what? His problem is a lack of effort and willingness to put himself about a bit.
RE: being played out of position? "wanders around in front of our back four or stands on the halfway line"</p> Your own words, hence "out of position"</p>
Does it show the umpteen crosses into the box with Conlon stood queuing for a taxi on the 18 yrd line?
no i dont think you understand wayne he is being played up front but when the ball comes back towards our defence he follows and then makes no attempt to go back up the pitch where he is meant to be. that doesnt mean he is being played out of position, it means he lacks effort. if colgan went up the pitch for a corner and then stayed there in their half instead of running back to the net would you say he was being played out of position? no course not, you'd just say he was stupid for not going back.
RE: what does it say about my knowledge of the game then? What it says is that you know absolutely nothing about the game, if you are not even prepared to acknowledge that there are parts to his game that no one in the present team, or squad, at BFC can duplicate. If you cannot see that both goals on Saturday came as a result of his involvement with high balls into the penalty area. I accept that he isn't a Wayne Rooney or a Van Nistlerooy but they don't do everything right all the time either. As for his sojourns into defence, I too would rather see him up front but he is obviously following orders and if he is then you can't blame him for that. I have been as critical as most people about him in the games where I considered he didn't do enough but I am not so blinkered as to not be able to give him credit where it's due. Either give a fair criticism or keep your thoughts to your self. As for what you could or couldn't do personally, we'll never know will we because fortunately for the ones of us who watch real football, we won't get to watch what would no doubt be your pathetic efforts to even run half the length of the pitch let alone play football on it.
RE: no i dont think you understand wayne We all know he's slow, and maybe chasing after the ball as you say he does is a order by Ritchie?</p> Hayes should run after the ball, and Conlon should always be in or around the area so when a cross comes in he'll be there!</p>
the problem is not that he will track back it is that he walks up the pitch whilst being overtaken by our midfield and two fullbacks
