Done some homework on a few. Maybe some are debatable but I’ll post anyway.

Bruce Rioch from Bolton to Arsenal. Finished season in playoff final then took over Arsenal in the summer.

Glenn Hoddle from Swindon to Chelsea. Finished winning playoffs to then take Chelsea job on straight after.

Ron Atkinson promoted with Sheff Weds to then jump ship straight to Villa who were big club at the time. Think they finished runners up to Man Utd.

David Moyes from Preston to Everton maybe?

Roberto Martínez from Swansea to Everton at the time Swansea had been in second tier.

You then have some crazy appointments that didn’t make sense at the time like

    OGS at Man Utd

Ray Harford at Blackburn straight after winning Prem

    Di Matteo at Chelsea

Many managers have been installed never having done it b4. Including at some of the top clubs. Some succeed many have failed.
As I pointed out b4 on another thread. Only 2 with previous experience have ever got us promoted.

To quote Keegan, I would “love it” if one of the big boys, especially Man United, brought in Warnock to reward his many years in management.

What a story that would make. The general reaction, his reception from their fans , the after match interviews and his dealing with big time Charlie’s and also winding up opposing managers.

If Carlsberg did managerial appointments :)

Vincent Kompany now confirmed as Bayern Munich Head Coach ina 3 year deal. Here is a guy who was allowed to spend £100m+ last summer and managed to achieve just 5 league wins from 38 games. 9th choice by all accounts too. Good god almighty.
