I didn’t mean my post as a criticism of our forwards, I just think Vic would be more effective than them in this team.

I’ll have to take your word for it about Tedic, haven’t seen enough of him. It will be interesting to see where Thomas fits in, in the slightly altered 3-5-2 shape we play now compared to the 3-4-3 before he got injured.

Never said we were a ‘really bad team’. Just that a front two of Adeboyejo and Jerome is better than any of our choices.

He would get in our team now . Maybe not a championship striker but a good division one striker .

Many years ago, after his debut, many fans were saying who the hell is this fat Scottish wànkèr, he's useless.
    Arise Sir Ronnie!

Norwood is a far better player than Vic, for starters. Cole however....

Chuffed for him, 3 and haif year contract on more money, the lad gave is all for us on not much money and extended his stay on the same amount if I remember correctly.

He showed his best for us when we had an haif decent manager who actually put a bit of faith in him.

His decision to move away for regular game time has worked wonders, good luck to the lad.

Bloody Bolton though, well I suppose Wigan wouldn`t have been any better either.

Abit of perspective mate.. football fans have stupid opinions not just bolton fans we've seen it on here....
Hecky could be a future England manager...toneys *****... if toneys worth that what's woodrow worth... Jacob brown isn't good enough for the championship... Vic won't score in league one...

How much did Burton pay? Because they’ve turned him into a 1/2 million pound striker in 6 months, while we invested in him for years.

Not sure what point you’re trying to make?

Can imagine the meltdown on here if we’d offered the same deal as Burton, which included a release clause, and we’d then sold him for 500k after scoring a few goals.

Another situation where the club are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. It didn’t work for him at Barnsley, it did at Burton. Remains to be seen if it will work for him at Bolton.

Good to see a grafter coming good, hopefully his contract is paying him enough to be comfortable in a few years if he lives like a normal bloke. There's enough daft kids in the Prem earning silly money with no effort and plenty of attitude.
He probably isn't Championship standard but he always gave his all and for me, a grafter trumps wasted god given talent everyday of the week.
Just hope they don't take a play off place at our expense.

The point is Burton made 1/2 million in 6 months while we invested a load of time and money and appear to have made very little or no money. Not a great bit of business in my book.

That’s the nature of football post Bosman. Did anybody really expect him to score the amount he has this season? He didn’t really put the performances in that demanded the club push the boat out with a contract offer, and the reaction to giving him a 500k release clause would’ve hit Chernobyl levels.

The real poor business was by Ganaye and Murphy who gave him a contract and triggered the extra year to take him to the point where he can walk away without the club getting any compensation.

Much ado about nothing here. I wish him well. However, I wouldn't drop Norwood or Cole for him.

Good luck to him , he's a runner at best, if Bolton are prepared to give him a 3 year contract he'll take it all day long.

Based on what? Vics scored more in a shitter team. Norwoods done ok but hardly been prolific in fact even coles scored more than him. Norwoods improved from his 1st few games with us but that didn't take much as he looked more like a darts player. He's got a few months left on his deal here do you think we will give him a new one?

I think that very much depends what league we're in. Norwood has consistently scored goals throughout his whole career. Vic has had a good half season.
