Won us a penalty against Wimbledon as soon as he came on, on debut I seem to recall. Reminded me of Martin Bullock. Never quite sure what happened to him, just sort of disappeared.

Reuben Noble-Lazarus - I keep meaning to google him to see what happened to him.

Paul Digby - Was going to be the "next big thing."

Mike Bahre - There was a player in there. Sadly I don't think the British game suited him

in a twist to topic , players who left and didnt go as far as i thought, was disappointed Carl Tiler didnt turn into an international defender as he was very good for us and first player for us that I remember getting into England under-21s.

I'm still waiting to see how Phil Gridelet and Kevin Dixon get on before passing judgment.

Fair summary of Sheron. A few years later we got Jon Macken who up til then seemed to have a similar career path and background as Sheron. Turned out similar. High profiles - high hopes - never quite worked out.

I prefer watching younger lads develop, having seen plenty of 'established' ones join us over the years for a swansong.

Paul Digby playing CM for Cambridge who are looking like they are getting promoted automatically from league two - he might be one of those players that matures in his mid 20's. He might work his way back up the leagues.

One of mine is Richard Kell. The Scunny fans said he was the better player out him and Hayes when they joined - very disappointing he never properly recovered from the broken leg. Hopefully we might have learned our lesson with those now!

You can name the players that have left us and achieved their potential on one hand.

For me it was Ronnie Glavin, first few matches he was awful, it went downhill from there, shame coz I thought he would have been a world beater.

Peter Sand. It's what happens when you have a famous, World cup competing brother I guess. Major disappointment.

Dale jennings, Jacob mellis, George moncur all had talent but the attitude let them down imo. Leroy lita and Keith treacy you could add to that list.

Phil Gray stands out for me because we'd just sold Currie to Forest and as a 9/10 year old I was gutted. Gray joined on loan soon after and it really hit home that I'd never see Currie play for us again (obviously I wasn't to know but it felt like one of the worst things in the world at the time). I remember Gray completely misjudging a simple pass to him early in the first half of whatever match it was and someone in the West Stand Lower shouting "Wekken up Currie!".

Agree with Mostto. There was something Football Manager about us signing a Peruvian International with a decent goalscoring record. He put the effort in too to be fair, but it never worked out for him.
