Barnsley council bin collections have been a farce ever since the "no crossing roads" piss take

When I lived in Ardsley, our neighbour was chasing wagon down street because his entire bin went in the back of the truck .
They said no chance of retrieving it, "get a new one".
    North Yorkshire very good.

Had an issue yesterday with the bin men, told me i werent allowed 2 Grey bins unless i had a permit/letter from the council.
Told them I've had 2 for several years, they said they would only empty one, told them i needed them to do it as its not been emptied for nearly 4 week.
The man then said unless you have a disabled child or children you can only have one bin, think he meant to say disabled person or children.
All while having this conversation i was putting 2 kids in the car, so i kindly pointed him to the kids and he smirked, emptied my bins and walked away.

I am expecting a letter from the council shortly asking why i have 2 grey bins.

If the council had come out with the gritters when the snow was forecasted the roads would have been a lot clearer and the bins would have been emptied.

Gritting main roads seemed to be done around Wombwell end on a daily basis, side streets different kettle of fish.

And again, grit doesn't do anything when you get more than an inch of snow. It works well with ice, but layers of snow are too much for it.

Ours are running fine in Sheffield, unless it's the garden waste bin, and that only gets emptied when the 4 largest moons of Jupiter align.

I'm not 100% sure based on your post, but do you have a permit/ allowance to have two grey bins? If so, then they should have emptied them.

If not, then you shouldn't have two, you should have one like everyone else as far as I can see. If everyone had two then we'd be in even more bother with bins than we currently are! Why should you be able to have two bins (if you don't have permission)?

I believe so, yes. It coincides with (what should be) the growing season as far as I'm aware.

Your awareness is correct for Barnsley, not so sure on Sheffield as Archey thinks his green un should be emptied this month.

Not usually. I think it's April to November. But it's a service we have to pay extra for. And as our fortnightly collection was disrupted so much last year, the council offered us a partial £10 refund, or a monthly collection between November and March (with no collection in December I believe). Though they usually text when the collection is due to say it's been moved by x amount of days/weeks.

The wait for us goes on. 2 grey bins full. Brown bin full. Bags of rubbish all over the street.
If they come and refuse to empty and of them or don't take the rubbish I'm going to blow my top.
