We'd never know how long AR's bouquet would last though

cos Gord would cut them off at the stems before they came to full bloom!

who wanted Ritchie sacked last year

besides the usual suspects, I have met very few who actually wanted him sacked at all, except the ones on here

I didnt want him sacked but could understand why the board wanted to sack him.Since Davey has kept us up nobody can say it was a poor decision. We will never know what would have happened under Ritchie, but surely he is in the past now after our achievement in staying up.

I can say it was a poor decision...

Credit to Davey for the work he has put in this season but the ends don't justify the means even in this case.

Ritchie was sacked under dubious circumstances and the decision to sack him was knee-jerk at best and a case of Shepherd's ego at worst. He was replaced by the cheapest option despite the board claiming (amongst other things) he was sacked due to a lack of ambition!?!?

Don't get me wrong - definite (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) to Simon Davey but I don't buy this revisionist, Shepherd as a football visionary story. Davey kept us up through hard work, Shepherd's involvement was more accident than design and his knee-jerk, can't take the heat decisions could have cost us dear...

After the appalling "effort" away at Palace,

I am afraid there was only 1 way for Ritchie to go.

What I dont get is the ones on here who keep banging on about it.

Ritchie was the past , we'll never know what would have happened if he had stayed, its time to move on.

I just hope Davey gets the team playing football coz the **** that has been served up during 95% of the games we have played under him does notdeserve to be described as football.

My tips for relegation next season.

I'm not sure the bookies will be generous though as I suspect they will be favourites along with ourselves for the drop to League 1.

    MMMmmmmmmwaaahhhh!

Are you sure you're not just a tinsy bit gay?

This love affair you have with Mickey and me is all very touching but the thought of being back-scuttled by a Warnock-o-phile is a bit much really.

I didn't want AR to go, but I can understand why the decision was made.

We were fecking awful at Palace - the last game before he got sacked. I don't know if we had a shot on target all afternoon. I remember one 'shot' from the edge of the area that never left the floor and rolled out of play for a Palace throw.

There was only one way were heading, and that was back to League One. The early-season confidence and effort had gone. We looked like a beaten team, and Davey (I didn't want him) deserves a massive amount of credit for keeping us up. It's a hell of an achievement, to take that demoralised squad, and shake it up enough to avoid relegation. Fair play to the lad.
