look, not getting into a racist debate that you so often love to have...

as far as I can see, the thread needs no more additions, as you are clearly trying to provoke such discussions in order to carry out a similar outcry.

So well done for trying, I will continue on other threads

But we're not in a position to take risks! We need experience and proven ability!

where is the money coming from for PROVEN players. and how often did we sign big money players under hart, only to find they were rubbish.

    DEAR BOLTON RED..................................

Take your point about Danns, Nugent and Phillips................but my friend we are in a desperate situation. These players were signed when the club signing them could take a gamble. There are several lower league players who we could go for but we won't because a transfer fee of over £100k would be involved ie: Keegan Parker (Blackpool) - Hayter (Bournemouth) - Mcleod (MK Dons) - Andy Booth and Dean Windass etc etc etc....................

We are now in a position where we need at least 4 signings to keep us in this league....but.....the players we need have got be to be old head been there done that players who know the score ie: Elliot / Dublin / Prior / Hayles etc etc etc etc

Thing is mate this debarcle should have been sorted August / September time, but yet again sold down the river with false promises by a board who have shown a total lack of ambition. We have bid peanuts for a Bury player and Oldham were willing to pay more wages than us for Gregan, we bid 200k for Williamson when RUFC have already turned down public bids of 350k, we appoint Davey not for the good of the club but BECAUSE HE IS THE CHEAP FINANCIAL OPTION and nothing else.

I rest my case.................................Oakwell has turned into Jokewell

    but be fair nez

I have referred you to the headline that Barnsley FC, put on their OFFICIAL website many times before. That was clearly saying that box office players would come to oakwell.

    RE: DEAR BOLTON RED..................................

It was the decision of AR not to strengthen the squad.

He wanted to give the current squad chance to prove themselves.

    They havent.

Simple as that, they are not good enough.

I totally agree with what you are saying again, especially the fact that we need experience BUT do you seriousley think it comes that cheaply???

Andy Booth for example, his wages are quite steep at Huddersfield and I can't seen him taking a pay cut in the latter stage of his career. Windass, he still gets premiership clubs after him, again it would take allot for him to leave Bradford.

I would be happy with Lucas, Lucketti, a LB,Williamson, and likes of Kabba, Hayles.

On the last point, I agree we have gone for the cheap option but did we expect anything else??? I hoped we would take that gamble (I.e. Worthington my choice) but we didn't.

no, simply not true, its the selective memory i love on this board, ol' boy. you said we're faced with the same inactivity as we saw in august/september.

remind me again, why was AR sacked? oh, cos he didnt want any more players as he thought HIS squad could do the job.

I know we have all questioned the truthfulness of this, but its interesting isnt it, AR hasnt come out and said differently, and I think he would, to protect his reputation if it wasn't true.

I know, but can I add....

That the same words were written in that statement, but the headline had the word promise in it.

So that point again, not to what PC said, but to the Journalism, and we all know who does that for the OFFICIAL site don't we...

    so in conclusion

Barnsley FC itself is who has caused the fans to think that box office players had been signed.

I feel sorry for patrick cryne on this because he never said he promised them but the club decided to publish an headline on its official site stating 'CLUB WILL GO FOR 'BOX OFFICE' PLAYERS' and have never attempted to correct it even after it became obvious that fans saw that as a promise.

John B' do you honestly think that Andy Ritchie would turn down money from the board to.......

strengthen the team ???????????????????? I meant that even Stevie Wonder way back in July / August / September could see that the team that got us promoted needed 5 players at least to survive this division.....5 EXPERIENCED players not the cheap options that we went for.......................

When they announced that Davey was the manager thats when the board confirmed all my worst fears....They have already given up the ghost on this division with the lack of ambition. Relegation will put the club at least 5 years back.

Gregan opts for Oldham instead of us because we can't match their wages.

On radio today Dennis Wise held into the early hours talks with Tor Andre Flo, Steve Kabba and Paul Iffill.

What have our board done gone to Aldi and seen a Bury midfielder available for £30k......*****N EMBARRASING

He'll have signed a gagging clause preventing him talking about it.

aye, thats what I am trying to put forward, cos PC is the last person anyone should be getting at...

the reports on sky, and other websites haven't really twisted anything that was said

the fact that our own official site have made it as a headline, is probably the most obvious cause, even though his actual words were used in the article, it was a misleading headline (and not a quote)

One word can describe the complete **** up that all this box office ***** came from

    Journalism

From out own bleeding website too....

    there, I have said it.

not that I want a journalism job, but if it said along the lines of

club to sign "box office" players?

and then the article, then it would be more fair, and isn't really twisting it then

the annoying thing isnt so much the original **** up but the fact that the club has had ample opportunities to apologise for the mistake and set the record straight yet they have never taken the opportunity

    You're wrong!

We appointed Davey because he'll do what he's told, and when it all goes wrong he'll carry the can for it AND he is the cheap financial option.

You're right about Jokewell though. Everything gets done on the cheap. They know the cost of everything, value of nothing. I was on the Wolves homepage yesterday - they make us look like a pub team for the way they are managed and marketed. No, correction, we make ourselves look like a pub team.
