I went to the Sheff Utd game & that was bad, The Ian Wright one made national headlines if I'm not mistaken? Didn't the chairman or mayor apologize for it?
Re: On the subject of racism i was and I was sat at the side of the tunnel with a mate who was an arsenal supporter even though he was Barnsley born and bred, we had to keep standing up to empty the water out of our seats and he pointed out that after arsenals 3rd wrighty was dancing infront of the ponty holding 3 fingers up and laughing. now I know he didn't deserve any RACIST abuse whatsoever but he didn't do much to help an already imflamed situation by winding up the main perpetators
Charlie Williams I wonder how he felt being on the board during those times? It was mid 80s, I remember him being on the telly when we played Liverpool in the FA Cup at home and lost 4-0 (Ian Rush hat-trick 84/5 season).
Remember Jimmy Greaves commenting on that game - read out the team sheet - Paul and Ron Futcher- might be brothers - Gwynn Thomas might be welsh- Winston Campbell might not be white :-/
