Hasn't been as smart in years. The past decade or so it's really telling the tens of millions of pounds they have spent to improve the area. It unfairly gets bashed. Just like any other town or city across the country with good and bad bits.
I last went 10 years ago, my overriding memory is that it was full of druggies and the sort of folk you see on Peel St.
I went a few times as a kid and never really took to it. Last time I went was about 15-20 years ago when my southern other half practically begged to go and see what all the fuss was about. She never begged to go back! I've been to a couple of the bigger seaside towns, particularly in the south, just passing through or staying nearby, and many are the same. In some state beyond faded glory hoping yesteryear will revisit them. Shame. Some lovely period housing stock if they had the money and inclination to revive them.
https://www.skylinewebcams.com/en/webcam/united-kingdom/england/blackpool/blackpool.html Rammed there today. Nothing up with the prom since it had millions spent to modernise it.
Says it all really. Grim. Then. Last went 10yrs ago. By the way. most on us use peel st. Saw nothing today or monday or last week of the sort of folk you see. Odd occasion yes. You must attract em. Only in Blackpool or Barnsley do they exist. Scarborough has one of highest drug-related death rates in England Quite like Scarborough btw.
Well I’m really looking forward to a weekend in Blackpool. I still like going there, and most surprisingly, so does my wife. Long weekend, get to see the reds and a game of golf at Lytham, what’s not to like?
