Seriously? I'd be absolutely furious if we don't make the play offs after the position we were in 6 or so weeks ago. If we scrape in it will undoubtedly be embarrassing, but I'd rather be in with the slimmest of slim chances than not.
I agree with a few on here, said it a few times myself too. The Bolton game absolutely knocked the stuffing out of them. That was 100% on him. They don’t look like a team. They don’t look like they know what they’re meant to be doing. They look ragged and uncoached. That’s all on him. Still people will defend him as the back three was changed. It doesn’t cut it for me. This team since Bolton has been absolutely woeful.
I didn't think I'd ever personally advocate for a Barnsley manager to be sacked with one game left whilst in the playoff places. Sounds crazy writtten down. But such is the inevitability of our trajectory, I would opt for that. It won't happen unless something has seriously gone wrong in the dressing room (and it's not really the style of our board to resort to drastic measures like that). But such is the absence of coherent tactics, style or team identity, pretty much the worst defence in the division right now with the same mistakes repeated from week to week. Individual performances have been poor, but to my mind these structural issues lie under the head coach's remit. Few people seem to want Collins pulling the strings next season so why not give someone else a shot starting with the home game which we need to win (and to be as positive as possible). We're gonna get trounced if we somehow slip into the playoffs anyway.
Game over for Collins I'm afraid, the players actions speak louder than words. It's like Schopp and Asbaghi all over again. He needs to personally thank Devante Cole for keeping him in a job as long as he has, I dread to think where we would be if we didn't have Cole's goals earlier in the season. It certainly looks like he's lost the dressing room. Absolutely no faith in those in the boardroom have the required ability to run a professional football club. They are probably more suited to the womens team level, that is where I suggest they move on to.
