I think i've just come in my Calvin Klein's.

Not really of course, but I am very excited.

    ******* love Blink!

Cheers Zoe, I was hopeful of a reunion before that. Now it's confirmed, i'm delighted.

    What they really mean...

"People thought our side projects were ****, and we want some more money. People are esily pleased, so our next CD will probably sell millions before people realise there are far better punk bands doing far better things."

Matter of opinion. I personally can't think of better punk bands. The only one that comes close for me is Simple Plan.

    RE: What they really mean...

depends on which side projects as boxcar racer was supposed to be B-side blink songs they didnt think fitted, and +44 and Angels and airwaves are not really side projects as they had split when they made the albums

In my opinion (of those from that list I have heard) only Green Day can compare. Although I do like Bad Religion and Bouncing Souls, I don't find them in the same league as Blink.

I liked Plus 44 but loved Angels & Airwaves. Still never matched Blink tho.

to my ears Blink 182 are just a heavy pop band as are most of the others of that ilk

I can't understand why people try and call them punk

Well I suppose it should come under a sub-genre of pop-punk.

Whatever they're labelled, they're very good, well loved, and I ******* love em.

Re: Blink 182 are too pop rocky for my liking..............

Alot like the bands out now ie. Simple plan, Fall out boy, Panic at the disco, Mcfly, you me at six and all the other crap.

The bands like AC/DC, Metallica, Dream Theater, Audioslave, System of a Down and even Jimmy Eat world are much better.

Please don't put Jimmy Eat World in the same sentence as Metallica and Dream Theatre - it's offensive to me!

    RE: Try...

Mate you forgot Dropkick Murphys and Rancid!

But I'd agree with pretty much all of those...not so keen on a few, but much more talented.

Bands like Alkaline trio, bouncing souls, Fenix TX, in my opinion are streets ahead, and much better at the more 'pop' side of punk. Can't beat a bit of Descendents or OLD Greenday - Kerplunk era too

And for more 'real' modern punk, not many can touch Rancid/NOFX in their prime.
