My view on this without axe to grind, is that unless Davey gets a defensive midfielder and natural left back in over the next week or so, our season will be over before it starts.
One of the main reasons Davey must have is that only Bobby has a long term future at the club and no point playing players he want rid of.
To quote Simon Davey on the official site "Bobby Hassell has rocked his ankle in training and is a big doubt".
I don't really know what he means Reading what he says, though, we're probably going into the came without Colace, Hassell, El Haimour, Van Homoet, JCR, Muller & de Silva. He also said, "At the moment, we are very happy with the squad of players we have here. We brought in Maceo Rigters last week and we will now go with what we have got".
exactly. It's about time that mind trick worked isn't it? Having tried it every game since he was manager.
RE: VERY selective that is Johnny, and doesn't tell the whole story. I think you are missing the point I was trying to make.
The stats show that Hassell is the most successful tackler of the players who are being touted on here as his replacement.
No one is saying he is a class act in midfield.
The stats just show he is the better tackler and maybe, just maybe, that's why Davey has been playing him in midfield.
Hassell also made more interceptions than the other two candidates for that midfield berth. He also made 5 more interceptions than Da Silva, which I find quite surprising, in 6 games less.
If the figures are wrong please do put me right. I'm only trying to show why Bobby is getting a game.

If Togerrs wasn't good enough to play then why did Davey give him a 2 year contract last year? He'd been his manager for most of the previous season. That's what's bizarre about it to me. He also signed Johnson for the positionto give him competition but within months didn't rate either. Madness.
