Great news He can still play an important part in the first team squad and will deservedly be awarded a testimonial next year. Hopefully, Steele & Cranie will follow suit.
I'm that wrong............that Flicka has offered him reduced wages for only one year........ Yep........wrong wrong wrong..........then again have I posted anything in your eyes that has ever been right If Hassell has signed then expect him, at best, to be warming the bench all season If Flicka does play him then either Hassell has suddenly found another yard of speed......OR......the team is down to bare bones again like they were at the end of last season I hope never to see the team down to bare bones again so lets hope that its the former rather than the latter reason......but not holding my breath
Or the fact he has years of experience at this level. Capable to do a job when required. Excellent professional who is already involved in youth development at oakwell?
Apart from the games last season (In The Championship) where he played in central defence and due to his superb reading of the game produced in the words of Flitcroft a "masterclass" in defending.
You're a clown who is obsessed with full stops....... That pretty much sums you up, in my opinion......
And lets not forget bobby will play anywhere for the cause for a ha'penny and a blackies egg. Rather have that than a John Rooney who keef wasted money on. Then there's the gutless made of glass whinger we signed from Liverpool. Isn't he here for another 12 months?
Re: Great news Bobby still has a lot to offer on and off the pitch and to say it is a step back is just stupid. A step back would to be to piss off 99.99% of the supporters by denying Bobby his testimonial season. I think Bobby's involvement will depend on what, if any defenders we sign. If his opportunities are limited, I suspect he might go out on loan for a while and lay the ground for a move at the end of the season. I hope the date for his testimonial is pencilled in soon so the out of tarners can make plans to go.
You're right mate, he was great in a couple of those games. But then he got done all over against Wednesday when played against Madine. Just couldn't handle him. Pleased he's staying but if it was down to ability I'd have wanted Foster.
Re: Great news Personally I hope he stays on for years to come, as a coach or whatever once he finishes playing. His PR image and his off the field activities speak for themselves, and he's got to be an inspiration to younger players at the club. Can't being to imagine why anyone would want him to leave. A true legend.
Re: So Who is that addressed to? Because I had one as well. Rare for me, but it needed saying. Damned principles!!
At the Lamproom last November Bobby said that he'd like his potential testimonial to be against his favourite team, Celtic. Away from the likes of Manchester United & Liverpool, it's difficult to think of many players in recent years who've been as loyal, reach this milestone and received such an accolade.
Adds to the numbers. Should provide reliable backup and could play if we have an injury/suspension disaster. If he has taken a significant wage cut, then this will hopefully give Flicker more finances/flexibility to help recruit a dominant centre back, who will play regularly, Being able to give something back to Bobby, for his effort and loyalty over the years, via a testimonial, is also great news. Good news all round.
Great news, loyal servant who deserves his testimonial year and will provide much needed back up to the first team squad as he is very versatile.
It was addressed to you And had bugger all to do with principles. The negotiations were on going, hadn't been finalised and should've been kept private & in-house, without being spread over Twitter, the local press or the BBS. Yet all we got were rumours & personal attacks on the manager's character (eg. "he's paranoid", "he's a liar", "he's only offered them contracts he knows they'll turn down because he doesn't want them at the club"). If you're correct with Steele re signing as well, that's also great news. But remaining patient & keeping ones own counsel these past few weeks would surely have been the responsible approach, until negotiations had been completed one way or another. As a good number of us suggested.
