I was hoping to see Bobby Hassell & Tom Kennedy selected at full back this coming Saturday. John Stones & Scott Golbourne have both played very well this season, in my opinion. Unfortunately, both lads have seen their form drop off since September. I feel they could do with being rested for a while and replaced by the more experienced duo. Hopefully, that would go some way to strengthening the back four, too.
Re: I was hoping to see Good shout.......I would be happy with this change in full backs. We've seen both Golbourne and Stones play very well this season (early)............so let's hope it's a drop in form and they return to higher levels of performance soonest.
@smithiestyke How well does your mate know Bobby? I find it hard to beleive that Bobby would tell a stranger he was going out on loan before the club announced it. I beleive that Bobby mentioned at the lamproom last week (perhaps JLWBL can clarify) that he thinks he is good enough to be getting in the team, doesnt know why he isnt, and wants to be playing. BTW I was also at Oakwell tonight. Great night with Jimbo handing out the trophies, and Bruce Dyer, his wife and brother also there.
I wouldn't put Bobby anywhere near RB but CB or DM? yeah. A liability at RB as his legs have gone but I always think he does ok at CB and more recently at DM.
Re: @smithiestyke He said he had no problems with Keith Hill. However, he feels he is good enough to hold down a first team place. Bobby also said that if he wasn't in the first team by January, he'd be asking the manager if he could go out on loan were the opportunity arise.
Re: @smithiestyke Cheers mate. So that suggests that he is prepared to wait until January. I didnt beleive that he will be going out on loan until then, and am 90% confident of this. I also think that Bobby will be here next year, and Mr Hill will not be
You may well be right Bobby thinks otherwise. He doesn't believe he'll get another contract and, because of that, won't be entitled to a testimonial.
Re: @smithiestyke Has he done his coaching badges yet? Wouldnt be surprised if he was our next manager if he is going down that route.
But relatively, our team isn't conceding goals like it's going out of fashion. We've conceded more than 1 at home twice. Hassell was in central defence for one of those games. So gerragrip.
