Sorry to disagree but Hassell was never world class/Bobby Mooresque. He was an honest player and did his best for the club unlike some others I/we could mention but to laud him as some kind of panacea for the club is clutching at straws. Good luck to him in the future but let sleeping dogs lie (and other cliches)
I agree Bobby wasn't world class ( except when he nutmegged Michael Ballack against Chelsea) but he was Championship class and definitely above Div 1 class and the implications that I take from Whiteys interview with him is that he's not playing in this country for other reasons than footballing ones I hope he has a good time in India and a successful future
Sometimes things need to be queried to learn for the future and peace of mind .we know he wern't world class or a spring chicken but he was certainly far and above any replacement brought on since. I don't want him back for nostalgic reasons football doesn't work like that I want him back because he can do a lot better job than anything we have lined up at present. If it was because of injuries or a disruptive nature that he was let go then fair enough I can live with that but with the dross we've had since it certainly wasn't footballing reasons imo
I never suggested he was world class, or Moore-esque, did I? I only stated my belief that he'd have been ideal for us this season. You're welcome to disagree, and yes, he's gone and as I admitted earlier in the thread, it's the fact we've not replaced him that's the issue. I'm sure there's a laiker out there who could do a similar job for us.
