If it's the Club that have limited them to around 2000 tickets - good on em! The fewer the better. Take every advantage we can off the pitch because we've precious few ones on it.
Reciprocal agreements seem fine to me. If Bolton have said they will only be able to offer us 2100 tickets, it seems reasonable we would offer the same. Got no idea whether or not that’s the case like.
So just to clarify, we are only giving them a third of the stand for one of 2 reasons. 1. They have only given us the same allocation and we are so petty that we are wanting to hurt their innocent supporters for the actions of their clubs owners. Or 2. We believe selling the entire stand to the away team gives them a competitive advantage that we want to deny them. With both of those in mind I have to ask why did we give derby the competitive amount when we gave them the entire stand this season after they only gave us 3000 tickets? Why did we give the entire stand to Sheffield Wednesday last season after they only gave us 3000 in the upper tier? And more importantly why were they two of our best performances in recent years? Do we actually play better with a packed away end? Does it make our players raise their game?
Why does it? Bolton fans don't make the decisions. It's like the stupid decision to charge Barnsley fans nearly £40 to watch Barnsley at home against Sheffield Wednesday in retaliation for Barnsley fans being charged nearly £40 to watch Barnsley at Hillsborough
Depends on the 1st leg football fans a fickle. I remember when we stuffed brum and less then 2k turned up for the 2nd leg.
Should give them the whole end. Petty not to if it's just tit for tat. Cash in on a big away following. I don't think it would have any ill effect on the team, we'll be shït anyway
And like an away game for us? Perhaps that would be a good thing. Derby brought 5000, both this season and last, and we beat them both times. Likewise Wednesday last season. Leeds brought a lot more than that when Hammill's wonder show helped us to a 5-2 victory. Similarly when Vaz Te's hat-trick helped us to a 4-1 win. Cambridge brought a handful the other week and beat us 2-0. We had only 300 at Portsmouth a couple of weeks ago and, according to many Pompey fans, played better than any other visiting team this season. A big away following for Bolton might have inspired us to perform better. Who knows?
