    I don’t think you’ll be disappointed tbh .
Another book you may enjoy whilst in sunny climes is a book by Don Turner called Kiriakos ( a British partisan in Greece )
It’s the true story of a Barnsley man ( Little Houghton ) called Ernie Chapman who fought with the Partisans in Greece .
It truly is a fascinating read , I’ve posted it on here many moons ago ,
I worked with Ernie at Houghton Main in the seventies and had no idea at the time of his war past .
He was a really remarkable man and very private and on his retirement this story was unveiled .
There was talk of a film at the time but nothing came of it which was a real shame , I’m surprised Barnsley or even Wombwell councils at the time haven’t honoured him in some way .

I’m re-reading 1984 at the moment. I did both that and Brave New World over 40 years ago so it’s time for a return to those desperate times! What a disappointment the recent televising of BNW was. The film of 1984 with John Hurt was brilliant though.

I'm looking forward to settling down with it over the holidays - along with another collection of seasonal ghost stories.

I don't enjoy reading, but one book I did like was called 'What lies between us', by John Marrs. Very grippy and would make a great TV series if done properly. I'm not sure some of the plot lines would come through though.

    The Magus by John Fowles.

Michael Caine in the lead role murdered it many years ago.

It's the best book I've ever read, no doubt because I read it at the best age to read it (18).

It'd make a stonking series, which nobody would understand the meaning or ending of.

Which sums up all our lives really.

Alex Cross or Michael Bennett books by James Patterson.
But they would need to be a lot better than the two already made.

The first episode had some great elements in it but the BBC then did the BBC thing of completely rewriting a historical work.
    Very disappointing.
