Yes the queues to get in can be ridiculous and I did wonder why when I made the crossing a couple of years ago. It’s attractive in many parts, lots of history and a little big of England of course (with all year round sun) but it’s hard to see the appeal for Spaniards going to all that trouble. Gets very overcrowded as well so not somewhere I’d care to live.

It’s kind of where we’re at these days that sharing a story on a country locking down for Christmas, despite 100% of the population being vaccinated, only gets comments that correct the poster on calling it an Island. Because that’s definitely the biggest issue with the post.

More importantly, how do you vaccinate 118% of the People?

You vaccinate them, and then do it again.

Based on vaccinated people travelling in to the country I believe. Assume that means you could only get there double jabbed or with a negative test since it opened up.

    You don’t know that ;)

Whilst it might appear from the outside that the government uses ‘we can’t release under FOI as we are planning to publish’, the truth is there’s nothing sinister there at all.

To get to the point they can state they’re planning to release, means the data is available, has been passed by the governments chief statistical officer, and the SOS or Minister has approved the release. Anything short of that, they can’t use the ‘publication’ exception.

You have a point that few people will actually know what the stats say in detail, but you’re wrong to suggest they don’t exist to the necessary standard.

So had my booster on Wednesday felt like **** yesterday even had to take the afternoon off sick with a really bad migraine style headache , but am OK again today so no excuse I have to go to Fulham tomorrow.
One comment though - to get to France from next month if you are over 65 (Im not but the ski instructor travelling with Mrs F in January is) you need to be able to prove you were vaccinated within the last 6 months +5 weeks. Currently there is no way to do that so if even if you had a booster you cant prove it as the Covid App doesnt show it - Apparantly the government is looking into it. I cant see what the problem is - my regular NHS app shows it but not the covid one that produces the covid passport surely this is an easy fix

Was suggesting the reason why so many Spanish day trippers queue to get in the place.

So Austria now mandating vaccinations and locking the country down for everyone again - does that mean they are going to have to accept liability fi they are forcing the jab on everyone? Not sure how that is going to play out.

I wonder what have the scientists being doing since they developed these jabs in 2020? They can now see they are not working so what is plan b? We have to be locked down and not travel for 40% of the time? What a sheet show. These things normally burn out after 3 waves but this thing is gong and going by the looks of it so where does it end? Tune in next week for the next exciting episode...... :(

Which but? The vaccines working or not working does seem a bit of a claim, while they clearly aren't stopping the spread it does seem to have a positve impact on severity of illness.
Austria are going into lockdown and making vaccines mandatory.

In Austria the police were randomly stopping people in the street and shops to prove vaccine status, sounds lovely doesn't it? The more worrying aspect of Human behaviour is that people will support this.

    https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(21)02249-2/fulltext
